Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's view is from the Cafe. I shot these early this morning while everyone was coming around for breakfast. Not my best work but I like them. But stay tuned tomorrow for some cool "newish" stuff.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

For today's view I would like to share the almost New Moon that I shot a couple days ago. It was the only day in over a week that I could see anything in the sky. In fact it's cloudy and rainy again.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Thursday Smidge picture day is here and I think I have a couple good shots to share. I made these after work today while she was sitting on my side table having a drink. She actually prefers to drink from a glass. In fact I have to be careful with my own beverages because she will take a sip when I'm not looking.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

After many days of clouds and rain the sun has returned and the Cafe is busy. And I was able to get out there with my camera. So for today's view I would like to share a couple shots with you.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

For today's view I am doing something I haven't done in a while. Since I don't have anything new to share I figured I'd share something old and post a "flashback". And this flashback takes us to Longwood Gardens on the fourth of July 2019. Here is a sample image but be sure to click the link at the bottom to see the entire post.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Well the rain is still around and again I wasn't able to spend a lot of time out with my camera. I did catch one pretty good shot at the Cafe though. And it's a "busy" picture. Busy meaning the feeders were full of hungry guests. In fact the Cafe has been so full that I saw a rabbit eating at one of the other seating areas. He was cleaning up what fell to the ground. Our diners do keep everything clean.

For today's view I would like to share two very different shots. We're having another very rainy day so I have not been out with my camera. But I do have a few things in mind for when the skies clear.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Hi there my friends. I don't know about where you are but around here it's been a very rainy day. There have been lulls here and there but for the most part it's been wet. This has made it a little tough to get out with my camera. But I took advantage of one of the drier periods and set up in the Cafe. Rain or shine birds still come around to eat. I didn't stay out there long though. I didn't want to take a chance on getting my gear wet. Still I came out with a couple good shots. And for today's view I would like to share them with you.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's view is a quick snapshot I made at the park just before sunset. This is straight out of my phone's camera with no editing. Maybe I'll grab some sunset pictures soon. Probably not this weekend though because we are supposed to get a lot of rain.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's view kind of showed itself to me after work today. I wasn't sure what I wanted to share but then I looked out into the Cafe and saw this little guy enjoying an evening meal. And besides, I haven't posted a squirrel in a while.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Hi there my friends. For today's view we are going back to Saturday morning at the park. Unlike yesterday Saturday didn't have a lot of morning sun. It did provide a lot of scenery though. And here we see some of my favorite scenery. Wildflowers. Oh, and a leaf too.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Well getting up early to meet the sun has finally paid off. After two other trips to the park under the advisory of our "wonderful" weather forecasts a third trip was truly cloud free. So in this case the third time was a charm. Anyway, I was up about an hour before sunrise and checked the weather and again was assured that the sky was clear. So I dressed, grabbed my camera and headed to the Norristown Farm Park and to one of my favorite sunrise spots. And I didn't have to wait long for the sun to make it's appearance. So for today's view I would like to share some of my pictures with you. Now please keep in mind a few things. First, no it was not really as dark as it looks. To shoot the sun and get a result that doesn't wash out the scene I have to meter on the sun itself and that creates a dark background. I am able to compensate a bit in post processing but I don't like to over do it and make the picture look phony, for lack of a better term. This may change if I decide to purchase a set of filters but right now I use none. I have often read that the way I do my sun photos is incorrect but I don't care what "experts" say. I am pleased with my results. And I hope you like them too. Anyway enough rambling. Here is what I got today.

Saturday View - 16 September 2023 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

So I was up early for the second Saturday in a row hoping to grab some shots of the sunrise at the park. I checked the weather and the sky was said to be clear. The forecast also called for no clouds. So I dressed, grabbed my camera and headed out to one of my sunrise spots. And just like last week the eastern sky was cloud covered. The west was clear as a whistle, naturally. So I made the best of it and photographed what was there. While I wasn't able to capture the sun I was able to grab some nice shots. In fact it was a very good morning with the camera. So for today's view I would like to share a handful of the pictures I made. I'll call this part 1 because there was so much more. I'll probably share the rest tomorrow.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's view is yet another shot of the night sky. Or is it the early morning sky? Well since I shot this at around 4:30 am we'll go with early morning. I used mostly the same settings as last time. ISO 1250, Shutter Speed of 10 Seconds, Manual Focus and my lens set to 18mm. The Aperture was set to F9. The only difference was a higher ISO (Film Speed). Post processing was done in Photoshop. I removed noise from the high ISO and darkened the main image while brightening the stars. You'll also notice I drew lines in the second image, though a bit momentarily. These lines show the constellation Orion.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I would like to get back to my weekly Thursday Smidge pictures. And to start off I am sharing this shot of her sitting on her bag. Smidge has a thing about brown paper bags. She doesn't get into them but rather sits and often sleeps on them. I might also add that this is the spot where Schnitzel's bed used to be. I think she really misses him.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Hi there my friends. Today we are taking another look at the night sky. It was nice and clear when I got up this morning and I made some time to grab a handful of shots. I tweaked the settings from the last time and used an ISO of 1000. I still set the focus to infinity just like before and set the exposure time to 10 seconds. I really like how these came out.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Hi there my friends. I had to run a quick errand after work today and on the way home I passed by the Farm Park up the road from me. And as I was sitting at a traffic light I gazed over and saw what would become today's view. The sky overlooking the fields of soy beans just looked too nice not to share. I shot these with my camera phone.
