Sunday View - 23 December 2018 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

While perusing one of our favorite second hand stores yesterday I found the latest addition to my camera collection. This one however is a lot less vintage and a lot more usable on a regular basis. And I bought it with one main thing in mind. Shooting the Moon. The camera is a Sony DSC-HX200V digital with a 30X optical zoom lens that is the Equivalent to about 810mm. You can Click Here if you would like to learn more about it. While it's not a replacement for my DSLR it is a great carry around camera for when changing lenses would be a hassle.

I got my new used camera home and really wanted to test it out but as luck would have it the skies were (and still are) cloud covered. So what do I do? I shoot a bunch of squirrel pics of course. And today I am sharing a handful of them with you. These are straight out of the camera with no adjustments made. I just want to see what this thing can do. And it seems it can do a lot. I shot these handheld and at a fairly long distance.

So what do you do on a rainy day at the shore? Go to the zoo! The Cape May County Zoo is just minutes away from our campsite so we figured what the heck? It's free to visit and probably won't be busy. And we were right. We also knew from prior experience that the animals would be more active than on a dry hot day. Naturally I made lots of snapshots and for today's photo I am sharing this peacock with you.

For today's mobile update I share with you this flower. At first glance I thought it was a daisy but was told it is a "cone flower". I was also told that unlike a daisy which is an annual that a cone flower is a perennial so it will return every year. I might have to get one or two for the Garden Cafe.

Today like yesterday I am posting a mobile update. It's been as busy Summer and when you throw in a 50 hour work week it's just easier for me. And besides I was going to share a snapshot anyway so why not do it right from the source? And that would be the incredible Samsung Galaxy S9+. I love the camera on this thing. And there is so much for me to learn about it which I also love. As for today's photo this is the rose bush I bought for Kim earlier this year. It was actually a house plant but we put it in our garden and it has just done so well.
