To help get a little more into the Christmas spirit I am sharing a little bit of our holly with you. And I mean a little bit. We have two very large holly trees that cover the end of our yard. They sure look nice but they can also be very messy. And you really don't want to step on their leaves when they fall.

Kim and I were outside in our front yard setting up some more Christmas decorations today when we heard some chatter coming from our oak tree. Looking up it we saw two young squirrels looking back down at us. They were cautious but curious of us and didn't run away. So I grabbed my phone and shot some video. Of course. I also grabbed a couple still shots. Nothing spectacular but you can at least see one of them. I'll share the video tomorrow.

I don't really get to see our squirrels during the work week. I put peanuts out and they get eaten but i'm just not around during the daylight hours to see it. But in just about a month we will have reached the Winter Solstice and the days will start getting longer again. Slowly but I'll take it. Since we are not camping on the weekends for now though I do see some daylight at home on the weekends. And I tend to take advantage of this time and do some shooting at the Cafe. Yesterday in fact I shot today's photo.

Today was closing day for the camper and Terry came down to help us winterize. After some prep work we headed to Atlantic City for dinner and while there were made a quick stop at the Flagship to take care of some business. And this leads up to today's photo. Yesterday while I was photographing one of our squirrels enjoying a peanut up in our weeping willow tree there was also this guy about to have some suet. I rarely used to see Bluejays eat suet or even eat at feeders for that matter but this year they don't seem too picky. And we have a lot of them here. probably close to a dozen. And they are very welcome here at the Cafe.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Like I mentioned in yesterday's post I had to work for a couple hours this morning. As such I am actually home during the daylight hours and able to see some of our local wildlife. Most days this time of year I am at work before sunrise and home after sunset. Have I ever mentioned that I really dislike Winter? Autumn is okay and I do enjoy a little change of climate but why can't we have Spring, Summer, early Fall and right back o Spring? Anyway getting back to today's photo here is one of our squirrels having a snack up in our weeping willow tree.

Every weekend from early Spring right into Autumn Kim and I drive past a series of lakes while on the way to the shore. And every time we drive by them I always say that one day I will pull over and snap some pictures. This has been going on since April. Well on our way home on Sunday I finally did it. We were running early and for once the sky was clear and it wasn't raining so it was the perfect time. I'm pleased overall but I wish I had taken a little longer and set up my shots better but I think you can see what I have been seeing for several months now.
