When walking through a wooded area last week I happened to look down and see today's view. I don't know why they interest me but for some reason I love to photograph mushrooms. And aside from the ones I can buy at the supermarket and safely eat I know nothing about them. But I am guessing it would not be wise to eat this one.

Today as we were sitting and talking with a friend here at the campground this little guy flew up to us. It is of course a hummingbird and he was drinking nectar. Probably storing up energy for the long journey south for the winter. Or maybe he was just hungry. This isn't the best quality shot but for a camera phone I think it's pretty good.

Today's throwback isn't a second look at an old post but it is a second look at a couple of older photos. I'm not sure at this point if I have previously used these images for the blog but even if I did I think they are worth another look. And I want to add that either picture doesn't have anything to do with the other. I was just going through old pictures and liked both of them. So here you go. One is a shot I made while we were tent camping in the Poconos and the other is a swan. In pretty sure it's obvious which is which.

Today's view is a snapshot I made on Friday morning with my phone, the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G. Using the cameras "Pro" setting I was able to adjust the scene to capture the Moon without completely washing out the photo. Okay it's not the quality of a DSLR but it's not bad either. As an added bonus however look at the upper left and you can clearly see Mars making an appearance. Nice bright and red. And to confirm it was Mars I have added a screenshot from Sky Map, an astronomy app I use. Cool huh?
