Welcome To The "Throwback Thursday" View

Today we take a look back at November 30, 2015. And today's photo is from "A Longwood Christmas" at none other than Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square Pennsylvania. I was getting a little artsy with one of their decorations.

Welcome To The Wednesday View

I still have lots of images to process from our Virginia Beach trip a couple weeks ago. And little by little I am getting there. I still think a good old fashioned full feature post is called for and am working on something. But for now enjoy this photo from First landing State Park.

Welcome To The Tuesday View

"Well Hello there!" said the giraffe. Well that's what I think this guy (or girl, I'm not really sure) would say if he could talk. This up close and personal shot was made at the awesome Virginia Zoo in Norfolk Virginia. One of our new "must visit" places whenever we happen to be in the area. I just can't say enough about it. The grounds are well maintained with really cool exhibits and the people we met were super friendly.

Enjoy today's photo.

Welcome To The Monday View

Today's photo is made up of three of my favorite things. The beach, sun and of course a touch of wildlife. A seagull in this case. Shot at the golden hour, just after sunrise, is this little fellow strolling along looking for breakfast.

Welcome To The Sunday View

Today I am sharing a behind the scene view of a typical early morning photo shoot. This one is from Virginia Beach and shows my camera phone set up on a tripod to video the sunrise. In this case the sunrise portion at the end of the video washed out a bit but the video as a whole is really good and represents my morning very well.

So here is the today's photo acting as a setup for the video that follows. Enjoy.

Welcome To The Saturday View

I really need to post more of our vacation pics from Virginia Beach but as I was going over some of my more recent stuff I came across another squirrel I want to share with you. It's another one that I made on Thanksgiving morning. Perhaps I should do a large post to get the shots from Virginia out to you. Hmm, a Sunday project? For now though here is that squirrel. It's the same one from the other day.

Welcome To The Friday View

Today I am going back to the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk. Figuratively of course. But I am not sharing an animal pic. This zoo like most is more than just animals. It also has some really nice landscaping with a large variety of plants and flowers. And since most of the flowers here at home are pretty much done for the season it was a nice treat to see some while we were in Virginia which is about 300 miles south of us. Today I would like to share this one.

Welcome To The Thursday View

Happy Thanksgiving my friends. There sure is a lot of food at our house today. But we weren't the only ones feasting. About five minutes after throwing some peanuts out into the Cafe this afternoon we had about six squirrels show up. And this one didn't seem to mind me or my camera. He just munched on as I clicked away.

Welcome To The Wednesday View

Today I would like to share a photo I made during our recent visit to First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach Virginia. I was a little hesitant in posting this however. I very rarely see woodpeckers outside of my own backyard and was certainly not prepared to shoot this. But I did the best I could and was lucky enough to get this before he flew away.

Welcome To The Tuesday View

Today was a hard one my friends. I'm not going to get into any details here. At least not right now. But I still want to get my post out.

For today's photo I am sharing a snapshot from our trip last week. I made this with my phone while we were on our way to First Landing State Park. It shows some pretty nice Fall colors.

Welcome To The Monday View

Today we take a look at another seagull photo from our trip last week. One of my favorite things is to be able to capture birds in flight and seagulls are a bit easier than most birds. I guess it's because they are rather comfortable around people and the fact that I usually have a lot of space to work with. The beach is wide open while a more rural setting has trees and buildings. At the beach I can track them longer. So now without further delay is today's photo.

Welcome To The Sunday View

I have been sharing lots of images from our recent trip and will be for some time. But that doesn't mean I am not still shooting at home too. Sometimes a good photo-op shows up right in your own backyard. Or in this case front yard. It's rare that I get a good shot of a Bluejay and very rare that I see them in one of our front yard trees. But this guy spent a few minutes at the top of one of our dogwoods.

Welcome To The Saturday View

I'm still trying to get a grasp on the sheer quantity of photos from our recent trip that need to be processed and exactly how I am going to share them. One at a time which would take quite a while? Or perhaps a series of larger posts? But in the meantime I will pick one here and there to post.

Today's photo is another shot from the awesome Virginia Zoo in Norfolk Virginia. Here is one rather large Prairie Dog.

Welcome To The Friday View

Today was a travel day my friends. Kim and I drove home from Virginia Beach and it sure is a pretty decent drive. Just under six hours. Now that we are settled back in I need to go through all of the frames I shot and figure out how I want to share the final cuts. And wow there sure is a lot to look over. It will take some time. But the good thing is I won't be short of material for quite a while. There is some good stuff coming your way.

Today's photo is one that I have overlooked. The ever important, obligatory seagull. A must for every trip to the shore. This one is from early in the week. But I have been snapping pics of them all week long and I have some pretty nice shots. And perhaps a video. But for now please take a look here.

Yesterday's View... But first a quick personal take on it.

As many of you know a sunrises are my favorite photo subject. And I've shot more than my fair share to say the least. Some were very good and others were rather flat in my opinion. Then there is this one.

Yesterday I shot what I feel to be my very best sunrise ever. Perhaps one of my best photos ever. And believe me I am not bragging. In fact I am the first to criticize my work. I am actually quite hard on myself. But dare I say I am humbly proud of this one. That is something I will very rarely say out loud (or here in my blog). I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoy sharing it with you.

Welcome To The Thursday View

Being away on vacation I have had a lot of time to get out and shoot. And I have taken advantage which is evidenced by the literally over one thousand frames I have to go over for post processing. This morning alone I shot over four hundred and the day has just begun (As I type this).

The Sun finally decided to fully show itself today and I was right there to greet it. And now in lieu of a "Throwback Thursday" post I am sharing this awesome sunrise.

Welcome To The Wednesday View

One thing I have noticed this Autumn season is an unusual number of bees and butterflies. I just don't think it is normal. And being three hundred miles south of home at the moment I have seen even more. For today's photo I would like to share this butterfly I saw while at the Virginia Zoo yesterday.

Welcome To The Tuesday View

It was another chilly day here is Virginia Beach so instead of spending a lot of time by the water Kim and I went in another direction. We headed inland and visited the Virginia Zoo. And what a perfect day for a trip to the zoo. Sure it was a little cool but it wasn't too bad. And the animals were very active. I have a lot of photos to share with you. In fact I shot more than 500 frames. I may have to do a special post dedicated to the zoo but for now let's just start with this one.

Welcome To The Monday View

It's a rainy day here in Virginia Beach as I am typing this at about 10:00 am. But it's okay because the rest of the week is supposed to be pretty nice. Besides it's good to just hang out and relax for a day. We will probably take a short drive but that's about it.

Rain and full cloud coverage of course means no sunrise to speak of so I am going to share another early morning shot from yesterday. I really like the way it came out. I hope you like it too.
