Throwback Thursday View - 30 April 2020 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's throwback is from April 30, 2017 and was shot at the Cafe. I always say there is no such thing as squirrel proof when it comes to feeders and I stand by that statement. As you can see from the picture squirrels are very resourceful creatures.  You can Click Here to see my original post.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

When in doubt or in he absence of anything else to share, share a squirrel. I actually have a few things to share but they aren't ready yet so for today's view I thought I'd show you one of our guests. Peanut in hand of course. Okay in mouth but you get the idea.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

I got a little more shooting in today. It was nice and warm and even sunny so I got to spend some time outside in the yard. And in my journeys around I came across today's view. This flower. And yes, it is a flower not a weed.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Well today once again started out blah but as it went on it cleared up a bit and just became cold. I did get out for a few minutes with the camera though. Literally a few minutes. And I was fortunate enough to grab some squirrel shots. So of course I am sharing one with you for today's view.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

If you were anywhere near us in Southeastern Pennsylvania today I don't have to tell you it was a rather blah day.  And I think today's view sums up the days activities.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

A couple days ago I was in the garden and finishing up for the evening when I noticed some of the blooms on one of our azaleas were open. So what else to do but grab a camera and shoot a few frames. And for today's view I am sharing one with you.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's throwback is from April 23, 2016 at Longwood Gardens. And just like now it was Tulip time. A time when they show off their many tulips throughout the gardens. It's something you should see if you ever get the chance. You can Click Here to see my original post.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today was sunnier and would have been warm if it were not for the wind. But at least it didn't rain. I still didn't get a lot done outside and didn't shoot any so today's view is from Monday morning at one of the feeders. This guy was taking a break from eating but he sure did get right back to it a few frames later. It was a good day for photographing squirrels.

Today turned out to be rainy and windy so most of it was spent inside looking out. Just an overall lazy day. I hope tomorrow is nicer.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's view is a couple shots I made at one of the feeders today. I set up my camera to shoot a frame every 4 seconds and walked away so our guests wouldn't get spooked. I get a lot of good candid shots this way. Including these.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Kim and I have been working in the yard a lot cleaning and sprucing it up. Last week I had to cut down a tree that died last year but instead of taking it all the way down I decided to use the trunk to mount some bird houses and feeders. I was going to install a pole anyway and figured this would be better. So for today's view here is what I have done so far.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Cold with a slight breeze. Two things that can make you not want to spend a lot of time in the garden. But by this afternoon I had to at least get out and check on the new greenhouse and make sure everything was doing well. And it is I'm happy to say. I also spent a little time with the camera. mostly trying to get some action shots of Schnitzel running. I got a few but he really didn't cooperate. I guess he was too busy investigating some birds and general goings on in his yard. I did get some good shots of some dogwood buds though. Both dogwoods in the front and back yards are blooming nicely and should fill out quite well soon. And for today's view I am sharing this cool picture I grabbed. And funnily enough I didn't see that strand of spider web until I looked over what I shot.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

It's Friday my friends and that means it's time for a Friday Schnitzel picture. And this particular Friday was a bit on the cooler side. Especially in the late afternoon. So today's view has Schnitzel in front of the fireplace warming up.

Throwback Thursday View - 16 April 2017

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's throwback is from Easter Sunday April 16 2017. This is a shot of a tulip given to us as an Easter gift. We did plant this in our front garden but I didn't see it come up this year. I hope it's still there and we see it next year. That has happened a couple times with various flowers over the years. You can see my original post if you Click Here.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's view is another shot from yesterday morning. This time though the subject has less feathers and more fur. And like most of the squirrels around here he was very determined.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday's rain and wind turned into sunshine, calm and though not overly warm a very comfortable temperature. And I was out early with my camera spying on one of the feeders. I got lots of great stuff but for today's view I would like to share two of my favorites. And the theme of the day is birds.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's view is a lot like yesterday's except it's a different bird and different time of day. Oh, and the lighting is better. But it is the same tree. We had a lot of bluejays this morning along with a lot of squirrels. It was a bust day here at the Cafe.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today was another day filled with yard work. Lots of yard work. And while we are getting a lot done I haven't had time to spend with the camera. So today's view is from a couple days ago. We see a lot of these birds and while they are big and kind of pushy the bluejays keep them in line.

Today's throwback is from April 9, 2018 at the Cape May County Zoo in Cape May Courthouse New Jersey. We were down there setting up our camper for our first season and when we were done took a little time to visit the zoo. Click Here to see my original post.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

What wonderful weather we had today. In fact it felt like camping weather. And though we can't go camping right now we can have a little bit of the experience right here at home. In the way of a campfire. And in today's view I would like to share a couple pictures of it.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Continuing with my shots from the park yesterday I would like to share another bird for today's view. But this is no robin. Kim spotted this guy along one of the wooded trails. I think he was stalking fish in the creek just below this area.

And this second shot is the edge of the creek. The swirling foam made this look like a Van Gough painting to me.

Sunday View - 5 April 2020 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

For the first time in a while Kim and I got over the the local park today to get out and walk a little. I mean it's so far away literally being up the street. At face value the park doesn't seem like much more than a big open field with a walking trail but there is so much more than that. There's a couple creeks that run through it and trails that run through the wooded areas. And that's where we tend to go. Today was the perfect day too. It was warm but not hot and very spring like. And speaking of Spring what better ambassador is there for the season than a robin? And speaking of robins I am sharing one with you for today's view. This guy sure seemed to have a lot to say as you can tell by his pose. But he wasn't the only bird we saw. Check back tomorrow for another park resident.

Today's view was shot right here at the cafe and surprise it's a squirrel. I was stalking some birds at the peanut feeder in our front yard when this guy comes along and steals the show. I got a couple bird shots too and you'll probably see them tomorrow but for now check this out. He sure was determined.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I am sharing another shot I made a couple days ago, Monday actually. This is a closeup of a pansy in one of our planter boxes in front of the house. It was later in the evening and the sun was going down but I wanted to capture the raindrops. Of course I'm sure there will be plenty of chances to shoot raindrops.
