Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

So I was out in the Cafe trying for some squirrel pictures, and not having a lot of success, when this guy came along. I only had time to snap off two shots but I think this one came out pretty good.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

So I was putting out a couple bags of trash yesterday and as I put them in the can I noticed something in the grass. It may only be February but with the overall mild temperatures we've been having I guess mother nature is a bit confused because wildflowers have begun to come up. Of course today we had sleet and rain. I hope all of the Spring flowers show up when they are supposed to a little later in the season.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

It seems like it's been a while since I've shared one of our squirrels here at the blog so this morning I set out to do just that. And it wasn't too hard to find one. This little guy was looking for something to eat and a handful of peanuts did the job. Of course peanuts also attract another visitor. I saw one of our bluejays eying them up and grabbed a couple shots before he dove down and grabbed one. They sure are fast.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Hi there my friends. This Saturday is a bit different than last in that the weather has been a lot colder. And as such I didn't get out far to shoot. In fact I only made it to the Cafe this afternoon and set up at one of the feeders to see who would stop by. I didn't get a lot of good shots but a couple were decent. And for today's view I would like to share them with you. The first shot shows one of our year round regulars. In the second shot though we see the return of some red winged blackbirds. They haven't been around most of the Winter but I guess with the overall milder weather we've had they decided to show up early.

It's getting a little late in the day my friends so let's get right to today's post shall we? I didn't really have anything new to share so I went back a week to my trip to the Audubon Center and found a few more pictures I would like to show you. Please have a look.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I would like to share a few more pictures from yesterday's trip to Peace Valley Park. Here we see more of the reservoir. One of these days when it is warmer I think I would like to take a longer walk along the path along the water. And shoot a bunch of pictures of course.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Hello friends! Today I would like to try something a little different. As I type this it is about 8:20 am and I have already been out to the park to shoot the sunrise. It was a very chilly morning at the park I might add with the temperature at around 26°F (3°C). But I think you will agree that it was worth it. I got a terrific view of the Sun. And that is what was going to be the first picture I was going to share with you today, but now it's not. You see as I was getting into my car to drive to the park I saw something in my neighbor's yard across the street. There was a couple of deer grazing on some of their bushes. And for today's first picture I would like to share this.

Cool huh? But how about the sunrise? Well after photographing the deer I got in my car and drove over to the park. This week I parked at a different spot. One I've used before that's just a little further away but one of my favorite sunrise spots. And now for my second picture I would like to share this.

Very pretty isn't it? I shot many others this morning and will share them in some upcoming posts but I think I like this shot the best.

And now I am going for a bit. It's around quarter to 9 am and I'm going to finish my breakfast of homemade corned beef hash before heading out to shoot some more. And this is where the "different" comes to play. What I would like to try is updating my post during the day before sharing it. Just thought it would be a bit of fun. Sure you'll see it all at once but I can mold the post as I go. We'll see how it works out. So I'll be back soon...

*****************************************************

Well, I'm back again. The time is 3:10 PM as I type this and I have a couple more pictures to share. After the first part of this post I headed out to run a few errands and also grab a few more shots. And I decided that Peace Valley Park and the Peace Valley Nature Center would be the place to go. Though today's weather has been a tad cool and rather windy it's still nice and sunny making it a great day for a trip out there. I shot a lot too but for today I am only sharing a couple that I really like. The first is a view of the Peace Valley Reservoir which is a part of Neshaminy Creek in Bucks County Pennsylvania.

And here is a nice closeup that I shot at the bird blind at the Nature Center.

And now I hope you liked this little experiment of mine. If you do maybe I'll make it a weekend regular of sorts. We'll see. Please let me know what you think.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

It's time for this weeks Friday Schnitzel picture. This isn't the best shot I've made of him but it was the best I could get. He usually cooperates but kept turning his head away from the camera. I did manage to grab a few though and this is the clearest.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I would like to share a few more sky pictures. It's just been too warm not to get out in the evenings with my camera. The first two are "standard" images I made tonight. The third is another star trail image. It was shot over a period of two hours and I think it looks pretty cool. Let me know what you think.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

I have been playing around with the Star setting on my Canon G9X Mark II a lot recently trying to capture star trails as the Earth rotates. Yesterday evening I made a shot an hour long and came out with a pretty cool picture. In fact I am sharing it for today's view. And now after actually reading up a little more I found out that I can set the camera up for up to two hours and also darken the image as it's shot. If it's clear tonight a might give that a try and see how it works out. For now though have a look at this. In addition to stars you can see a few spots where planes flew through the frame.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Yesterday I took a short ride to the John James Audubon Center in Audubon Pennsylvania. It's a nature center that's about 15 minutes away. I was there last summer but I don't seem to go much although I really should. There's plenty to see along the many walking trails and it's almost always very quiet and peaceful. There's even benches to rest on along the way where you can just sit and enjoy the surroundings. And best of all this is all free of charge. The only fees are for the visitor center and one of the historic houses. You can read more about it at this link. Yesterday was a perfect day to walk the trails and naturally I shot many photos along the way. For today's view I would like to share some of them with you. The black and white shot is me having a little fun with one of the filters in Photoshop.

I would also like to share a quick video I shot along the Schuylkill River.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

For today's view we are going to take to the skies. Well kind of. Today I would like to share a couple of shots from the sky. One I made last night and the other I made early this morning. Sunrise to be exact. To make this first picture I set up one of my cameras in a dark part of the yard and set it to record the stars as the Earth rotates. This created the star trails that you see. The longer I leave the camera out the longer the trails. This shot was made over a period of about 45 minutes or so. It would have been longer but the camera's battery ran out. I might try again tonight.

And this second is a familiar site. Here we see the Sun just as it was peeking out from behind some clouds this morning at the Farm Park.

When I got home from work today I decided I'd set up my camera at one of the feeders just to see what I would get. There's usually a few birds that show up for a quick meal before it gets dark but today there was a good crowd. And I got a lot of good shots. For today's view I would like to share a few of them with you.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Water is important for our wildlife year round but in the Winter months it's even more important. That's why I make a point to always have it available for our birds and squirrels and even our other visitors such as the raccoons and foxes. And for today's view I would like to share a couple shots from one of the Cafe bird baths as two birds are making use of it.
