Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Hi friends! It's my favorite time of the week again. Time for a Friday Schnitzel picture. But today instead of sharing one picture I am sharing two pictures. That's twice the Schnitzel. In the first one we see him posing in front of the fireplace. Quite nicely I might add. And in the second he is watching a squirrel in our front yard.

Throwback Thursday View - 30 January 2020 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's throwback is from January 30, 2015 and once again is itself a throwback going way back to 1992. This is a view of Valley Forge National Park that I shot with my first 35mm camera. A Canon T50. I still have that camera and it still works. Actually I probably have just about every camera I've ever purchased. Yeah, I've sort of got a camera problem. Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I am sharing one more flower from this weeks bouquet with you. And what better to wrap things up than a rose. Now I have a question. Which of the flowers that I posted this week do you like the best? Just wondering. For me I'd say it's the daisies.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I am sharing another shot from our current flower bouquet. Looking at it reminds me of Spring and the fact that it really isn't too far off. Hey, baseball is less than a month away. Spring training is at least. Then onto Summer!

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

I spent a little time this afternoon shooting some flowers I bought for Kim this weekend. I set up the tripod and even hooked up my remote and I got some really nice shots. It will take me a couple days to go through them but I do have one I would like to share today.

Today's view is a couple shots I made this morning when checking in on the Cafe. I wasn't really prepared to shoot and these aren't my finest quality but I still think you'll like them.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Kim and I drove into the city tonight for dinner with some good friends from the campground. It was our second meetup this Winter and hopefully we'll get together again next month. And before we know it Spring will be here and we'll open up camp. For today's view I am sharing a snapshot from our drive home after dinner. This is along the Schuylkill Expressway.

Throwback Thursday View - 23 January 2020 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's throwback takes us to January 23, 2017 at Valley Forge National Park. As you can see it was a rather dreary cold day. Well, I didn't actually shoot this on the 23rd but rather a month earlier. It was still Winter though. And probably cold. You can Click Here to see my original post. Also, though he is no longer with us I would like to say happy Birthday to my Dad who would have been 94 today. 'Till we meet again :)

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's view is another one of our house plants. This is one of our two Tradescantia Zebrina which is also known as a Spiderwort but most commonly known as a Wandering Jew. It's one of my favorite plants not because of it's flowers, which it doesn't have right now, but because of it's unique leaves. We keep one on the window sill over our kitchen sink but I think it may eventually need to be moved because it is growing rather quickly.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

A week or so ago I was in a local grocery store and there was a nice selection of bulbs as I walked in. Flower bulbs that is. And although we have more than enough flowers taking up most of our windows I couldn't resist getting another. So I picked up an iris. Not that you could tell because here was no flowers just a few stalks coming up out of the dirt. When I got home I stuck it in our front window and watered it and over the next few days the leaves grew longer and longer. Then one day when I got home Kim asked if I had noticed the flowers. I asked "what flowers?" and she said the iris. And to my delight it had taken off very well. So for today's view I would like to share this photo I made this afternoon after work.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Taking a second look at Friday's Schnitzel picture I noticed it was a little blurry. I guess if was the result of a dimly lit room and a schnauzer that was begging for a treat. So for today's view I am sharing a different Schnitzel picture.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I am sharing a couple more snapshots of yesterday's snow. The first is a view from our front yard showing one of our dogwood trees. The second is one of the newest additions to the Cafe. This year we have added a heated water bowl. While it's great to feed our wildlife year round, especially in the Winter when they need it most, water is also very important. And using a heated bowl keeps it from freezing on colder days. You can see fresh footprints in the snow around the bowl. We also see a lot of birds frequent it too.

This morning was busy at the Cafe so I set up a camera and shot some video. Along with today's view I am also sharing a clip from what I captured.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's throwback is another of my old "Retro Friday" views from a few years ago on January 16, 2015. The pictures were originally shot on film in February of 2004 when Kim and I got married in Las Vegas Nevada. And if I'm not mistaken I believe all three of these casinos is gone now. Let's continue with the squirrel pics. How's that sound? I probably have one more after today's to share. I guess it was a productive weekend. This guy was standing watch as I tossed out more peanuts. And speaking of peanuts it's almost time to refill. That means another 15 lbs. Off to BJ's it is.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Yesterday was a very good day to photography squirrels at the Cafe. But today was even better. The weather forecast called for a good amount of morning rain but what rain we did get was well before sunrise. And like yesterday it was very warm. We made it to 67°F (about 19°C). A record for this day. I know it's not normal but I'll take it. So since it was so nice today we got a lot of work done in the yard. And while out there I was able to spend some time behind the camera as a few of our squirrels ran about. I shot about 90 frames and got a lot of good stuff that I will be sharing over the next few days. And for today's view I would like to start with this.

How about some squirrel my friends? Today was absolutely beautiful and so warm. Our cafe customers were very active and I was able to get out there with my camera and snap off a few frames. I even cleaned up the place a little. Several weeks of peanut debris and leaves and small branches were all over the place. I am happy to say though that it looks pretty good now. Oh and of course I loaded everyone up with fresh peanuts. Now for today's view I would like to share this little guy with you.

Throwback Thursday View - 9 January 2020 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's throwback is from January 9, 2015 but is really from March of 2000. Does that make sense? Well on January 9, 2015 I was trying a feature similar to Throwback Thursday that I called Retro Friday. I figured it would set me apart from something everyone else was already doing. But I didn't keep up with it and it just sort of went away. The picture I shared in 2015 was originally shot in 2000, on film. So I guess that really made it retro. And now today I am sharing the retro as a throwback. Easy huh? This was shot in Chinatown in San Francisco when I was there for work. It was a quick trip and I would really like to see it again when I have more time to spend there. I've been to California several times since then but just never made it that far north. Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Kim and I are home from our quick overnight trip to Atlantic City and I have a handful of snapshots to share. Today I have three for you. The first two are actually the same scene made at different times. They are a view from the balcony of the unit we stayed in and show mainly Ocean Casino at the northern end of the boardwalk along with a view of the city. The first one in the evening and the second in the morning. Ther third shot is just for fun and shows a sticker placed on the balcony railing. I'll probably share a few more shots this week.

It's that time of the week my friends. Time for a Friday Schnitzel picture. And today he was already where I wanted him and didn't move when I went for the camera. He even let me snap a few shots without getting up or looking away. And this is also the last Christmas themed picture of the season. Pretty soon the decorations will come down until December.

Today's throwback takes us to January 2, 2016 at Longwood Gardens. This lily is one of the many blooms that you can see there in the Winter months in the conservatory where it's nice and warm. That's what I love about Longwood. It always looks and feels like Spring inside. Outside in the gardens however Summer is obviously much better. Please Click Here to see my original post.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

And welcome to the 20's. Happy New Year my friends. I hope 2019 treated you well but I hope 2020 is even better. For today's view I would like to share one of the last pictures I shot before midnight last night. We like many have a tradition of burning bayberry candles on New Year's Eve. We also burn then on Christmas Eve. Legend has it that doing so will bring good luck and prosperity in the new year. Now I can't say that this is particularly true but I figure why not give it a try anyway? Besides they smell nice. As you can see from the picture I timed it just right this year. Both candles burned out at just about midnight.
