October 13, 2014 - Photo Of The Day

After I shot the sunrise yesterday morning I started to head back down the boardwalk and to the motel. Because it was a beautiful morning however I made a couple of stops along the way. The sun is so easy to work with in the early hours of the day and with the boardwalk not being very crowded I thought it was a good time to photograph some of the scenery. This is one of my favorites.

This is Gillian's Wonderland Amusement Pier at 6th St and The Boardwalk. It is an indoor/outdoor amusement park that was founded in 1929. You can read about it at the official website here and here is the park's Wikipedia entry.

And continuing a recent theme I would like to share a short two and a half minute video I shot on the boardwalk. This shows how quiet it is that early.

October 12, 2014 - Photo Of The Day

After all of the rain that fell on Ocean City yesterday the sun finally broke through this morning. According to all of the weather forecasts that I saw it wasn't supposed to happen but at least they were wrong in our favor. I am glad I woke up in time to go out and get to my favorite sunrise spot on the beach because I wasn't planning on it due to clouds that were to cover the sky. But I did and here you go. Today's sunrise.

And as a "bonus" I am including two...Yep two videos from my photo shoot. The first one is another time lapse of the sunrise.

This is 16 minutes condensed into 26 seconds. This and the next video are best viewed at full screen and at 1080p HD. You can select the video quality by clicking the little "cog" at the bottom right of the video on YouTube.

The second video is "normal" and is 5 minutes and 39 seconds. I add this to share a little bit of the early morning beach with those who can't get there or are not insanely early risers like me :)

August 30, 2014 - Photo Of The Day

Here comes the sun.  I know I shared a sunrise photo with you just a couple of days ago but I have a nicer one for you today. I think so at least. 

Kim and I are on a short trip to Wildwood Crest in New Jersey. As always I had to get up early at least one day to greet the sun. What's really nice this time is that we are staying at a motel on the beach so I didn't have to go far. 

Here is what I got today.
