Welcome To The Daily View

We have always enjoyed a nice campfire. But a not so nice side effect is a lot of smoke. If you've been camping and have sat around a fire you know what it is like to have to shift around to avoid it. And the same goes for fire pits. So when shopping this past weekend for some outdoor accessories we purchased a Chimenea. A Chimenea has a chimney so all of the smoke goes up instead of in our faces. Tonight after work I assembled it and built our first fire. Here is a look.

Welcome To The Daily View

Today I am sharing another shot from my journey through the Norristown Farm Park yesterday morning. This time instead of a sunrise though we have a section of trail.

Just a bit of creepiness due to the low light from the early time of day. In reality though it's not creepy at all. In fact it is very pleasant with the sounds of nature all around.

- Canon 80D
- Sigma DC 18-250mm Lens at 18mm

Welcome To The Daily View

Hi folks. Today for the first time since our move I was able to spend some time out and about with my camera. And it was great! I got a lot good stuff to share with you. For today though I am starting off with something that I haven't posted in a long while. A sunrise. Now, it was quite cloudy when I set out and although the Sun wasn't big and bright it did provide some really nice color for the morning sky. So here, with a little more grain than I would like, is this morning's sunrise.

I shot this at the Norristown Farm Park which is within walking distance from our new house, for which I am ever so grateful. It is very nice to have such open space. You can read about the Park here and here.

Technical Info

- Canon 80D
- Sigma DC 18-250mm Lens at 61mm
- Manual Mode
- Aperture F16
- Shutter Speed 1/20 Second
- ISO (Film Speed) 400
- Center Weighted Average Metering

Photoshop and the wonderful NIK Collection from Google was used for some rather tricky post processing. I had a little trouble with film grain (noise) but I think it came out okay.

Welcome To The Daily View

Today's photo is a continuation of yesterday morning's photos from the new Garden and Cafe. This time with a little less tree and a lot more sky. Those clouds sure did keep the temperatures up above normal. Now that things have cleared out a bit we are having some cooler weather. Still though, it's not bad for January.

Welcome To The Daily View

I was in our yard this morning before work filling the feeder and putting out peanuts in what will be the new Cafe and thought it would be nice to share a little bit of it with you. Here is a snippet of the sky as seen through a few of our trees.

Welcome To The Daily View

It seems that yesterday's post showed up a bit late. I assure you that I finished it on time and attempted publish it. For some reason though it didn't show up and I had to retry this morning. Hopefully today's will work right.

I had to go out on the road today for work and in my journeys I passed by this place.

Click For Full Size Image

Called The Yellow House Hotel this is a restaurant in Oley Pennsylvania. Built in 1901 The Yellow House originally served as a stagecoach stop. You can read about it here. If this photo looks familiar it is because I posted a similar one a year or so ago. Someday maybe we'll try dinner there.

I shot this with my camera phone and the only editing I made was some cropping so there really isn't a "Before" image to speak of.

Today I would like to share a snapshot I made while driving home from work. I have a longer commute now and at least some of it is scenic.

There's not a lot of technical info since I shot this in auto with my phone's camera. I also did no adjustments so this is the "Before" and "After" photo.

Welcome To The Daily View

Today like most days lately was a busy one. But we did take time out to drive to Lancaster County with my Sister Kathy and Brother in law Joe for dinner. We have been doing this each January for the past few years to celebrate Kathy's and my birthday. On our drive out there today we hit some foggy weather and I thought what the heck? I'll shoot a picture or two. And of course I had to share one with you.

Remember, don't try this at home. I will say though that there was not much traffic. But still, don't try this at home.

Welcome To Te Daily View

Hi folks. It's been a long work week and Kim and I are still settling into our new house. We got a lot done tonight but now it's getting late so this is going to be a quick one.

For today's photo I dug back into the archives and found this snapshot from Valley Forge after one of the few snow showers we have had so far this Winter.

Welcome To The Daily View

Here at the new Cafe we have squirrels. Many of them in fact. I knew that when we set out to purchase this property but now that we are moved in I have discovered that since our yard is much bigger than our last one it gives me the opportunity for action shots like this one.

Click For Full Size Image

While this isn't as clear of an image as I would have liked I do love the composition. These two guys were playing tag for a while. What's really cool though is that they seem pretty comfortable near me. The peanuts I have been feeding them helps I'm sure.

Today's photo is of one of our very first visitors.

Welcome To The Daily View

Tonight's post is gonna be quick folks. And a little different from my regular ones.

Kim and I have moved! We are in our new home as of today and let me tell you I am very excited. We have so much more land than our old house and lots of nature to go with it. And yes, the cafe has moved with us. And just to let you know I have the old cafe covered. Our furry and feathered friends will still have plenty to eat.

So for today's photo I am sharing a simple snapshot of where the new Cafe will be located.

The Cafe should be located to the left of the frame you see here. I'll be sure to keep you posted.
