Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

What a beautiful day we had today. And with all of this warm and dry weather I spent a lot of time outside getting some work done in the yard, aka the Cafe. As usual I had my camera with me and was able to grab some nice pictures. For today's view I would like to share a few of them with you.

I would also like to share yet another video from one of the feeders from earlier in the week.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I am sharing a few more random shots from the weekend. I was just looking through my RAW files and thought you may like these.

This is a blossom on my neighbor's apple tree. It looks like they may get a lot this year.

Here is a Bluejay looking for peanuts in our front yard.

And here is one I almost missed. I don't know if he was hiding or spying but here is a male Cardianl tucked into a bush in our back yard.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Yesterday was a great day to get out and enjoy the weather and of course shoot a photo or two. I am still very pleased with the sunrise I shared but I have so much more to show you. More including this cool squirrel that came around for a bite to eat. I captured these images while he was in our dogwood tree enjoying a peanut.

I Have also continued shooting GoPro videos at the feeders. Here is my latest.

Come back tomorrow for more. I have some cool stuff to share.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Sunday View - 24 April 2022 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

I was up and out early again today but this time I didn't travel too far. In fact I only drove about a minute away to the parking lot of the Norristown Farm Park. When I woke this morning I checked the weather and saw it was clear so I got dressed and grabbed my camera to try for a sunrise shot or two. And I got some of the best pictures of the Sun that I have ever produced. In my opinion of course. After looking through my work I have decided on one that stands out to me and I think makes a great view. Have a look and I think you will agree.

A scene dark enough that the Sun doesn't wash it out but light enough to display just enough nature. I am very pleased with today's results.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

I was up and out early today and made several stops. I headed to a local bakery just a little after 7 am to get some rolls that tend to sell out quickly. After that I headed to the Peace Valley Park Nature Center in Buck County Pennsylvania. It's about a half hour or so from here. I like to go there once in a while and take advantage of the awesome bird blind they have. And as usual my trip proved to be worth while. I got lots of good shots of the many birds that frequent the park but two of them stand out to me. The first I am even surprised I got because it was far away. It does show a little in the picture but it's still a nice scene. Take a look at this pretty Green Heron.

And this second shot is really cool, Again it's a little "soft" but the subject is what really makes the frame. I don't name many of my pictures but I call this one "Kissing Cardinals".

I think he was feeding her some seeds or perhaps something else he picked up along the way. Either way I like it. What's funny is that they were doing this a little earlier than this shot and I missed it. Then when I saw them together again I aimed and waited. It was worth the wait.

I also walked a few of the trails while at the park but I'll save those pictures for another post.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Well after a rather chilly start today turned out pretty nice. It actually feels like Spring. When I got home I did my normal routine of letting the dog out and filling the feeders and making sure there was fresh water for our guests and since it was so nice I decided to grab some pictures too. But instead of staying out there and waiting I set my camera on a tripod and turned on the Interval Timer and let it go for about an hour. I set the focus on one of the feeders and it shot a picture every five seconds. So now I have hundreds of frames to look aver. I did skim through them and found two that captured a male Cardinal. And for today's view I would like to share this one with you.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's view is a quick shot I made while heading into the backyard with my camera. I was going back there to snap some pictures of our cardinals but along the way I saw this Robin with nesting material heading into our neighbors bushes. I don't know if there is a nest there but it sure would be a good spot. I'll keep an eye out but I'll be careful not to disturb anyone.

Easter Sunday View - 17 April 2022 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Happy Easter my friends.

As usual I was up nice and early today and I took advantage of it by getting some work done in the yard or Cafe as it also known. There's always lots to do. I really don't mind it because I get to spend time outside amongst our many birds and get to hear their song. Especially in the morning when they are active looking for food. It's really quite relaxing and peaceful. As usual I had a camera nearby and even shot some video. Actually the video I am sharing today is still recording as I type this post. But I already know I've captured some good content. But as for today's photo I would like to share this pretty male cardinal. It's rare, at least for me, to see a cardinal sitting atop a wire like this so I was very happy to get this shot. He was up there singing. I guess he was alerting his friends of the recently filled feeders. Have a look.

When I looked at this on my camera screen I wasn't sure it came out because it was rather dark. But through the magic of Photoshop I was able to adjust it to what you see here. Not too bad.

And here is my latest GoPro video. I'm really liking these and I am glad I'm finally getting some good use out of my GoPro.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

It's been a while since I've shared a squirrel picture, or at least it seems like it has. So for today's view I would like to share this shot I made Thursday afternoon. This was just after a heavy downpour of rain and this little guy was drying himself off on a tree branch.

And here is another quick video from one of the feeders.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

It is said that the best way to capture an image is to get as close as possible to the subject. Well in today's view (views) I did just that. My knees are not happy about it but I got on the ground and snapped a bunch of wildflowers. When you these compare the flowers with the grass blades around them. They are tiny. If you've seen a lot of my past work you probably know I like to dabble in macro photography. There is a whole world under our feet that's either hiding from us or waiting to be discovered. And in  a small way (no pun intended) I have brought that world to you. Have a look and I hope you enjoy.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

My leg has been bothering me a bit lately and I haven't really been out a lot to shoot. But I did have to do a little yard work this afternoon and I kept a camera with me. So when I was done I grabbed a few more Spring blooms. I have shared similar pictures but I want to post these anyway. As far as the grape hyacinth goes this is the first one to pop up in our yard so far. But when it comes to dandelions we have plenty. I would also like to note that I'm not 100% happy with these but I still find them sharable. Have a look and decide for yourself.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I would like to share another view of yesterday's morning Sun. A much more accurate picture. In this shot I was able to use an average meter that takes the entire scene into account. This is how bright it really was if not even a little brighter.

Sunday View - 10 April 2022 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

I got up nice and early today and thought it would really nice to capture a sunrise at the park up the street. I even checked the skies from our backyard and seeing stars it was a go. Then after getting showered and dressed and grabbing my camera I headed to the park and as I got there I find that there was a low lying cloud formation all the way along the eastern horizon. Of course the sunrise was out but I still stuck around to shoot the Sun as it rose above the clouds. Now as you look at this realize it was not dark at all but if I wanted to get a decent shot I needed to meter directly on the Sun which in turn makes the scene rather dark. But I like it and I think you will too.

I also have a short video to share. I call this one Squirrel Acrobatics and once you watch it you'll know why.

Thursday is here and I am happy to say that we are back on schedule with a Thursday Smidge picture. Today's view is a familiar one but it was either this or catch her sleeping. So I went with awake. Also check out my newest video from the Cafe. A rainy and wet Cafe but hey the birds and squirrels gotta eat, right?

And here is the video.

Wednesday View - 6 April 2022 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today we continue looking at some of our Spring blooms. The wind calmed down enough for me to grab some shots of both of our weeping willows. I often speak of the big willow that can be seen from all the way up the street but last year I discovered a second one on our property. Yeah I know it sounds weird to just discover a tree that's been here longer than us but it was mixed in with a lot of brush and for some reason I never noticed it blooming every Spring. And it's getting pretty big too. I wonder if it was planted by a person or if it occurred naturally? Either way I'm very glad to have both.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Believe it or not Spring is here. You might not know it by the weather but it is. And as such we are getting a lot of Spring blooms. And amongst those blooms is a lot of dandelions. Now I say this every year but I'll say it again. Dandelions are flowers, not weeds. Just take a look at today's view. This cannot be a weed.

And after you look at this flower take a look at this second video from yesterday at one of our Cafe feeders.

Sunday View - 3 April 2022 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

I wanted to share a squirrel or at least some kind of wildlife today but the weather and just plain timing made that difficult. So instead I'm sharing another picture of one of our tulips. This one isn't quite open yet and is still nestled within it's leaves. But in addition to a picture I am sharing a very cool video I made this afternoon. And the video does feature a squirrel. I have a waterproof GoPro camera that I was able to sit on a deck rail near two of our feeders to capture some great footage. The video is about 8 minutes or so long. A little longer than I wanted but I had to keep it at that length to show you two cool things. First at about 10 seconds in the squirrel sees and checks out the camera. Then a few minutes later it starts to hale pretty hard. The little guy stuck it out though. Check it out below.
