Welcome To The Tuesday View

Today's photo is a snapshot that I made this afternoon.

A couple days ago I was sprucing up the house plants that we keep by one of our front windows. In doing so I noticed our African Violet is blooming quite nicely. Fast forward to today and I thought I would share it with you. So here you go. Straight out of my camera. In this case that would be my Samsung Galaxy S8.

Welcome To The Daily View

Today is the last day of February and we are one day closer to Spring. So keeping with the flowers and blooms theme I am sharing another one of our house plants with you. This is my first and only African Violet. Another flower that I have been told time and again is hard to care for.

We have had this violet for about a year now and though the flowers do eventually wilt we seem to see new ones every few months. And all I do is water it twice a week and vary the amount of sun it gets.

Technical Info

- Canon 80D
- Sigma DC 18-250mm Lens at 250mm
- Aperture Priority
- Aperture F22
- Shutter Speed 1 Second
- ISO (Film Speed) 800
- Spot Metering

I shot this at close range with my lens fully extended and naturally my camera was tripod mounted. I used the camera's self timer to avoid camera shake.

Post processing was done in Photoshop with the help of Google's NIK Collection of filters.

Hi and welcome to the Daily View!

A while back Kim and I picked up an African Violet during one of our trips to Longwood Gardens. After a few weeks however the flowers died off and all that was left was the plant. Well a couple weeks ago I saw a few buds sprouting and before I knew it I had some blooms. So for today's photo I would like to share this with you.

Hi and welcome to the Daily View!

Well I think I have my Windows issues solved for the time being. Well most of them at least. I finally have my Start Menu back and my mouse works again.

Today I was able to take some time and shoot some of the flowers in our home. And now I would like to share our newest addition.

This is our African Violet. I have never had one before but I really love the colors. I still need to read up on it's proper care so I can share many more photos of it in the future.
