Monday View - 28 March 2022 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I have a few more pics that I want to share with you from Longwood last week. I spend a lot of my time there shooting flowers but I do also snap some pictures of scenery. And two of those from last week stood out to me. I have included color photos of both but I have also included one black and white. I'm not sure which I like better but am leaning toward the black and white. Please let me know what you think if you're so inclined.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Monday View - 2 December 2019 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I would like to share another shot from yesterday's rainy Cafe. I saw a lot of birds including the woodpecker I already showed you and of course lots of bluejays. But I also saw a lot of squirrels. Weird huh? Going through what I got I came across this shot and thought it would look good in black and white. And as you can see I got a little creative. I hope you like it.

Throwback Thursday View - 29 November 2018 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's throwback is from November 29, 2016 in Atlantic City New Jersey. Here is one of the few (maybe only) black and white sunrise that I have ever shot. It;s funny I came across this today because I was thinking of doing some more black and white work. Stay tuned! And be sure to Click Here to see my original post.

Saturday View - 28 April 2018 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

We get a lot of squirrels here at the Cafe but now we are seeing even more. Three more as far as I can tell. I have spotted three young ones. I think they are the offspring of one of the females I have been feeding. She has become rather comfortable around me and I hope here young do too. I have been trying to get some pictures of them for a little while but it's tough because they never sit still. But I was finally able to get a few okay shots and today I would like to share this one with you. In black and white.

Friday View - 13 April 2018 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's Friday view is one more shot from last weekend's visit to the Cape May County Zoo. As I worked with the original RAW image I just couldn't get it right. Then I converted it to the black and white image you see here and knew that is what it needed. What do you think?

Tuesday View - 3 March 2018 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I am sharing one more shot from last weekend's Valley Forge trip. Once again it's presented in black and white and once again it is a blend of nature and architecture. But mainly architecture. I am not really sure how old this barn/stable is or if it is of any historical significance but I am pretty sure it is being used to store landscaping equipment. Although I do see signs of horses in the area, if you know what I mean.

Monday View - 2 March 2018 Edition

Welcome To Te Exploration Photography Daily View

Over the weekend I started going through my computer trying to free up some space. It gets cluttered very quickly with photos and videos. As I looked through various folders I came across the pictures I shot at Valley Forge last weekend and found some that I still want to share with you. I like a good balance of architecture and nature and I think today's photo is a good example of that. Well maybe this isn't exactly architecture but it is a blend of man-made and nature.

Once again I think this scene needed to be presented in black and white. Your thoughts are welcome.

Sunday View - 25 March 2018 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Before I get to today's photo I would like to go on record and say that I never again go on record about this years snowfall. Yesterday I said the snow was done for the season and what does it do today? It snowed. Admittedly it wasn't much to speak of but just the fact that mother nature felt it necessary to throw one more in there is adding insult to injury. Come on Spring where are you?

Now, for today's photo I am sharing another view from our brief visit to "the other side" of Valley Forge yesterday. It's another shot of the dilapidated greenhouse only from a wider angle. I almost decided to do this one in color but just couldn't. Color would have cluttered it and taken away from it in a way. I think the black and white let's you concentrate on the subject without distraction. What do you think?

Saturday View - 24 March 2018 Edition

Welcome to The Exploration Photography Daily View

I am going on record and saying that we are done with snow for the season. I mean we have to be right? It's almost April after all. Today's weather was rather nice. It made it into the low 50's and the sun was shining. Most of the snow from last week's storm is gone and the ground is even drying up. Before you know it we will be complaining about the heat.

Today I was able to work in a short trip to Valley Forge and shoot some frames. But this time I went to what I call the "other side" of the park. I have shared photos from there before but not a lot. And though I have previously shared other versions of today's view I think this one is better than all of them.

I always shoot this in black and white and can't really "see" it any other way. Maybe I will do a color version some day but I don't think so.

Sunday View - March 11, 2018 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

With the weather a little friendlier today I tried to spend some time outside to grab some pictures of our Cafe visitors. It was a busy day out there but I wasn't able to get a lot. I did capture some shots though and for today's view would like to share this one with you. This is one of our regulars who I believe lives in a nest in our Oak tree. Or is it a den? I think it's a den.

Welcome To The Saturday View

Today is a travel day for Kim and Me. Well not really the whole day. We are just going away for the night. And I hope to get some cool photos to share with you here at the blog. For today's view however I am sharing a shot I made this morning while in the back yard. It was very overcast and there wasn't much color so I took the color away completely and made it a black and white. This is one of many bluejays that visited this morning for breakfast at the cafe.

Welcome To The Saturday View

Today as we were getting ready to head out and run our weekend errands I noticed some cool shadows on our front lawn. They were cast by our dogwood tree. So I grabbed my camera and shot off a few frames. After processing one of them it just seemed to need something else. Or maybe something less? It came to me and I removed the color and what a world of difference it made. So for today's photo I share this.

Welcome To The "Throwback Thursday" View

Today's throwback takes us to February 1, 2015. It also takes us to one of my favorite places to photograph. And one of my favorite times to shoot there. And that is Longwood Gardens during "Orchid Extravaganza". There is several photos in this post so please be sure to Click Here to see them all. And though orchids are the main theme I am sharing this shot from that day.

Welcome To The Wednesday View

I was going through my recent archives this afternoon to see what I like but have not shared here yet. And I was drawn back to a snow covered Valley Forge and yet another black and white shot. Here we see a rare view of the Memorial Arch without any park visitors in the frame. The snow seemed to have kept a lot of people away.

Welcome To The Friday View

I'm getting this out late my friends so let's get right to it shall we?

Today I am sharing one more (and probably last) shot from a snowy Valley Forge last weekend. And it is yet another black and white. I wasn't sure at first about this one because the Sun is kind of strong but I just had to post it. I love the composition.

No trip to Valley Forge is complete without me stopping to photograph "My Favorite Tree". So here it is for probably the something like thousandth time in glorious black and white.

When I looked at the original color image I felt as though something was missing. So to make the final image "more" I made it "less". I think it sets the mood of the scene better.

Welcome To The Tuesday View

On Sunday before Saturday's snow started to melt away I was able to capture today's Photo. Wow! That's a lot of days huh? It's a reminder of the Summer that has passed and a look forward to next Spring. Okay I know that Winter is still nine days away but I can dream can't I? Just remember that once Winter hits the days start to get longer.
