Sunday View - 13 October 2024 Edition

Yesterday was such a nice day that I decided to take a drive over to the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove to have a walk around. And today I would like to share a handful of shots that I got, plus a couple videos. There's still more to go over but for now here is what I have. The squirrel in the first few photos was very friendly. He actually ran up to me and seemed to pose for the camera.

Until next time...

Sunday View - 16 June 2024 Edition

Today we take a look at some more photos from my visit to the wonderful Jenkins Arboretum . A trip that I will be making more often.

I love shadows and this one is really cool.

I always notice fallen leaves and sometimes can't resist sharing them. Certain ones seem to really grab my attention. Notice the intricate detail build into each of them.

Scenery along the way.

I'm not sure about this one. When I shot it I told myself I had to share it. I just hope you can see what I see.

And here is another video. This is along one of the walking trails.

Until next time...

Tuesday View - 7 December 2021 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Thousands of leaves have fallen since Autumn has begun and I am taking about just one of our trees. But for whatever reason this one leaf caught my eye this afternoon. On another note I just wanted to tell you that there will be some upgrades coming to my blog soon. I am still working on it but for the first time in a couple years I am going to tweak it a little. Both in design and content. Stay tuned. Now here is today's view.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I am sharing another snapshot+ from our weekend at the campground at the shore. Actually I shot this as we were leaving for home on Sunday afternoon. I guess if nothing else the rain we had made for a good photo.

Monday View - 10 September 2018 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Although we are indeed home I am posting today's photo as a mobile update. It's been a long day my friends. And though it is still Summer I am sharing a little bit of Autumn with you. I saw this rather tattered leaf on one of our benches out back and knew it was the perfect representation of the coming seasons.

Friday View - 20 July 2018 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Kim and I are home this weekend. A rare occasion that we are not at the campsite at the shore. But today's post is still in the form of a mobile Update. And this is simply because we are sitting out back enjoying our new gazebo and our beautiful nature filled yard, AKA the Cafe.

I shot this the other morning before heading to work. Every once in a while a leaf will catch my attention. This was one of those moments.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome To The Wednesday View

I still have lots of images to process from our Virginia Beach trip a couple weeks ago. And little by little I am getting there. I still think a good old fashioned full feature post is called for and am working on something. But for now enjoy this photo from First landing State Park.

Welcome To The Friday View

It's just about 11PM as I am typing this my friends so I will be quite brief.

Today's photo is one more from last Saturday's trip to Jenkin's Arboretum. And it is another reminder that the Summer is well in our past and the cold weather is probably going to stick around for a while.

Welcome To The Monday View

Photography is the art of capturing light. And today's photo is a perfect example of this simple definition. This rhododendron caught my eye as I saw the sun shine trough and present a perfect shadow of the leaf on the other side.

Welcome To The Tuesday View

Today's photo takes us back to the subject of my Sunday walk in the park. Autumn. More precisely Autumn colors. Here we see a single leaf on what is now a very bare branch. It's green is gone and by now it has probably joined the thousands or perhaps millions of others that have fallen to become compost for next years leaves.

Welcome To The Friday View

Friday is upon us my friends and so is some cooler weather. More and more I can see Fall taking over and we all know what's after that.

For today's photo I am sharing another leaf from one of our outings a couple weeks ago. This is a sure sign of the season's change.

Welcome To The Monday View

Today's photo is the result of a mistake. Well not really but yes it is. Makes sense right? Let me clear this up.

I was out shooting our back yard this afternoon trying to capture some more colors of the impending Autumn season that is headed our way. At one point I decided it would be nice to capture a turning leaf before it falls off it's tree. I figured it would be a nice contrast to the many shots I have shared of leaves on our lawn. So I stood under one of our dogwoods, aimed upward at a leaf and after one shot decided I couldn't get anything good without a tripod. I then went about photographing other scenery. Fast forward to the editing stage and to my delight that one single frame turned out pretty good.

So there you have it. Never count any shot out until you take a good look at it. And speaking of looking at it here is the completed photo.

Welcome To The Sunday View

It seems that more and more Fall is approaching. And it just feels like it's early somehow. Sure it made it into the 80's again today but there was a lot of raking and other yard work to be done. And that's how I spent most of my day. So in turn I really didn't have time to shoot. Therefore today's photo is a snapshot I made last weekend when we were in Lancaster County. Ironically it's another sign of Fall.

I know this is a quick one but I must go for now. But I'll be back real soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome To The Tuesday View

Today we step away from our Lancaster trip and head back home and into the Cafe. While sprucing up on Sunday I came across some cool subjects. What makes them cool is that they are every day sites that are interesting when you take a closer look. To me at least.

On Sunday I shared a woodpecker feather and today I am sharing another close up view. This time it's a fallen leaf from our weeping willow tree. Our weeping willow is one of the first things that drew my attention to what has become our beautiful back yard. Actually it was the tree and it's colorful leaves that coated the grass when we first stepped foot here in the Fall.

For some reason the leaf displayed in today's photo stands out to me.

Welcome To The Daily View

Like most of the month today was another rainy day. And I think tomorrow is going to offer more of the same. But rather than let all of this dampness bring me down I am taking advantage of the situation and recording the natural beauty that rain can provide. Today I would like to share a piece of what I came up with.

I usually try to keep a natural look in this type of shot but I kind of like it with the contrast kicked up.

Exploration Photography Daily View - October 24, 2016

Hi and welcome to the Daily View!

No matter how big a place may be it is the little things that make it. The little things that are everywhere everyday. We may not notice them but they are there. Every once in a while I make a point to stop and enjoy these little things and sometimes preserve them via my camera so that they may live on forever. Just like this fallen leaf at Valley Forge.

There are literally millions upon millions of leaves at Valley Forge but this one stood out of the crowd. At least to me. And now I share it with you.
