Welcome To The Wednesday View

Today For a daily photo I would like to share a new addition to our family of house plants. Well it's a house plant until the weather turns warm and I can plant it outside. This is a fresh rose bud from the new rose plant/bush that I gave Kim for our anniversary. Which happens to be today :)

Welcome To The Saturday View

A couple days ago or so I shared a view of a rose on our rose bush. It was fully open and bathed in raindrops. One of my personal favorites to tell the truth. Today I am sharing a somewhat smaller rose. In fact it's barley a rose yet. Take a look at this beautiful rose bud.

Welcome To the Daily View

Today I would like to share one more "tree bud" photo with you. I have to say that this is another shot that the composition quality outweighs it's overall quality. I would have liked it to be just a bit more defined.

Exploration Photography Daily View - April 20, 2016

Hi and welcome to the Daily View!

Yesterday I shared one of my latest views of the Valley Forge "Witness Tree". Today in honor of Spring and the annual renewal of the season I would like to share this with you.

This is a bud on the almost three hundred year old Sycamore. A promise that for at least another season it should flourish and fill itself with leaves. And when it fills you should see the shade it provides :)

Exploration Photography Daily View - January 16, 2016

Hi and welcome to the Daily View!

It's getting late my friends so this is going to be quick. I am working on a lot of projects and the time just seems to have slipped away today.

Please enjoy this unopened rose I shot at Longwood Gardens on New Years Day.

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Exploration Photography Daily View - January 7, 2016

Hi and welcome to the Daily View!

I was going over some photos from our New Years Day trip to Longwood Gardens and I came across something I didn't see when I shot this particular frame.

A small aphid on this rose bud. Technically not really good or the rose but pretty cool to catch on (digital) film. Still can't believe I didn't see it when I shot this...

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

April 15, 2015 - Photo Of The Day

Happy Tax day! Actually should the words "happy" and "tax" be used in the same sentence? Anyhow it is April 15 and that means we are another day into Spring. And that means more Spring blooms and hopefully warmer days that are here to stay for a while. Today I would like to continue my recent theme and share some photos I made of our pear tree.

When I journeyed out back to snap some photos I was greeted by this guy sitting in the pear tree.

Of course as I approached the tree he flew off. That's okay though, it let me concentrate on what I set out to shoot.

I would also like to share another video I shot at the "Avian Cafe". Apparently it is popular with squirrels too. Check it out at the link below.

Thanks for stopping by folks. I'll be back with more real soon. I hope to see you here at the blog.

February 25, 2015 - Photo Of The Day

Spring is just around the corner. It really is. And to remind us of the promise of Spring I shot a couple photos of our Rhododendron in the front yard. These buds made it through a very cold Winter and will bloom before we know it.

Thanks for stopping by and please make sure to come back again. Pretty soon I'll be able to show you flowers instead of buds.

Until next time...

September 30, 2014 - Photo Of The Day

The end of September has arrived and it's that time of the year when plants and flowers die off and the ground becomes covered with falling leaves. But in the midst of this something interesting is happening right in my own backyard. Wildflowers. Now there may only be a few stragglers at full bloom but there is also a lot of buds. I suppose that as long as the weather remains somewhat moderate and the frost stays away they will also come to bloom.

I know that I have posted a similar photo before but hey, who doesn't like a little reminder of summertime? I had a little fun with this one. I hope you like how it came out.

I rarely use the flash on my camera. On board flashes are not generally a photographers friend but that is a topic for a future post. For this however I used the flash to darken the background. It also let me use a lower ISO (Film Speed) and in turn reduce noise (Grain). This was shot at the beginning of dusk and there was a lot of light from the day left. What do you think?

Thanks so much for visiting! I really do appreciate it! If you like what you see please consider following along by using one of the choices in the side bar.
