The weather was nice and cool when we got to the camper last night, a nice contrast to the hot humid weather we have been seeing for weeks. I had doubts about the subject of today's view. Doubts that it would live let alone bloom. Today we are looking at a bud on our hibiscus. We originally had it at our camper last summer but of course I brought it home for the winter and being inside was kind of tough on it. In fact we did have two and the other didn't make it. Well now this one has been in our front yard for some time and is doing very well as you can see in the photo.

Even with the hot weather there were squirrels waiting for us when we got home from the camper this afternoon. As normal they were looking for peanuts and as normal I gave them a handful or two. If you've seen the sunrise for the past couple days you probably noticed it has been shining as a bright orange disc while still low in the sky. I'm told this is caused by smoke from the California wild fires that has made it's way almost 3,000 miles across the country. This is both tragic and amazing at the same time. Fast forward to late in the evening last night and as I look up at the moon I notice a pinkish hue. My best guess is this was from the same smoke. For today's view I would like to share this photo I grabbed.

Every now and again it is necessary to replace a bird (squirrel) feeder. They get a lot of use and honestly I'm surprised at how much abuse they can take. But anyway I replaced two feeders this weekend. Usage has started out slowly but I did see someone enjoying fresh seed from one of them. And for today's view I would like to share a picture I got of them. This was captured from across the yard so it doesn't have the same detail as yesterday's shot but it's still petty good.

It seems that the current heatwave has continued today as the temperature reached the mid 90's again. But the Cafe was busy. The heat usually slows things down a bit but it was business as usual. Today I would like to share three unrelated pictures. Though I guess they are loosely related because they were all shot during our weekend at the shore.

I shot this during one of our walks around the campground. We try to walk after dinner everyday. Well Kim does but I often accompany her.

This is the sun setting over Avalon New Jersey. I was just a few minutes late to get the entire sun in the frame. 

And this is one of many shots I made of the fireworks show in Avalon last night. We watched from the beach as fireworks were shot off of a boat just off shore. The show was spectacular.

All of these were shot with the amazing Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
