Sunday View - 25 August 2024 Edition

The weekend weather has been very friendly and it seems that perhaps Autumn may arrive sooner than later. I know I'm in the minority but it can't get here fast enough for me. The last several Summers have been way too hot. Though this one has been a little better. With some more comfortable temperatures I made it to one of my favorite spots to photograph. The Morris Arboretum right on the edge of Philly. I got lots of shots that I will share over the next few posts but to start today I'm staying small. Real small for the most part. Here are some pollinators and other insects that I saw. Oh, and one Robin.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

If there is something that is just as important if not more so to attracting birds and wildlife to your garden as providing food it's providing fresh water. Here at the Cafe I refresh a bird bath and three other watering stations daily. Sometimes twice daily. I believe that is why I see so many birds. I even get robins in the winter months. For today's view I would like to share some of our visitors enjoying the water.

Sunday View - 5 April 2020 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

For the first time in a while Kim and I got over the the local park today to get out and walk a little. I mean it's so far away literally being up the street. At face value the park doesn't seem like much more than a big open field with a walking trail but there is so much more than that. There's a couple creeks that run through it and trails that run through the wooded areas. And that's where we tend to go. Today was the perfect day too. It was warm but not hot and very spring like. And speaking of Spring what better ambassador is there for the season than a robin? And speaking of robins I am sharing one with you for today's view. This guy sure seemed to have a lot to say as you can tell by his pose. But he wasn't the only bird we saw. Check back tomorrow for another park resident.

Wednesday View - 27 March 2019 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's photo is a true sign of Spring and hopefully Summer real soon. Though we have had robins for about a month this is one of the only "good" shots I have been able to capture. I say "good' because I had to grab and shoot very quickly before he flew away and had little time to check my settings. Perhaps Auto Exposure nay have been a better option in this scenario. I rarely use it but for a snapshot it can be useful.

Exploration Photography Daily View - March 19, 2016

Hi and welcome to the Daily View! 

Spring is upon us and it has sent one of it's ambassadors to let us know. This isn't the first robin I have seen lately but it is a welcome reminder that Winter is almost gone.

I was sitting in the cafe this morning and was trying to grab some more squirrel shots and this guy literally just hopped on in. He was picking at some seed an bread I put out. I have also seen cardinals but haven't been lucky enough to photograph them yet. Now when the hummingbirds return we'll know the warm weather is here to stay a while.

Exploration Photography Daily View - July 10, 2015

Hi all! Welcome to Friday and welcome to another Exploration Photography Daily View. I'm not sure if I shared this with you before but even if I have I'd like to share it again.

There is a tree growing next to our pool that gets bigger and bigger every year. But this year it has a new edition. A bird, probably a robin, has been building a nest in it. We first saw it a few weeks ago but now it like the tree is also getting bigger.

I did take a quick shot inside the nest with my phone's camera but it appears to be empty. But I do often see a robin coming and going. I am not sure when robins lay eggs so maybe it just hasn't been used yet? I'll just have to wait and see. I will of course be very careful not to disturb it or any possible future contents.

Hi there! Welcome to the Exploration Photography Daily View. Here is what I have for you today.

We get a lot of birds in our yard but oddly enough not a whole lot of Robins. Not in the front yard at least. Maybe they don't get along with doves and blackbirds? Hopefully this is one of many to come. I'll be there with my camera waiting!
