Hi and welcome to the Daily View!

Can you believe it's September already? How did that happen?  It seems like just yesterday I was cleaning our yard of it's Winter debris and I was at our local nursery buying Summer flowers. Flowers like this vinca.

As you can see it's still going strong. In fact there is still buds on it. I think if I bring it in when the weather starts to turn I can keep it for quite a while.

Hi and welcome to the Daily View!

Good evening friends! Hot enough for you? If I had a dime for every time I heard a heat related statement today I could probably retire. But I suppose it's just human nature. We are obsessed with the weather. Especially extreme weather. And to give you an idea of how hot it got around here today take a look at this.

Yep. 104°F (40°C) Not uncommon in the American Southwest but a tad high in Southeastern Pennsylvania. But it has since cooled down to a frigid 88°F (31°C)

For today's photo I would like to share a closeup of one of our favorite Summertime flowers. The Vinca.

Vinca are not just pretty. They are also very hardy in direct hot sunlight. It is no wonder that many townships around here and also many commercial establishments use them in their landscaping. We were actually a little late in planting them this year but since we have they have taken off very well. I'm sure I will be sharing one or two more shots with you over the Summer.

Exploration Photography Daily View - August 5, 2015

Welcome to the Daily View!

It's getting late and I am beat. But the work week is more than half over and the weather is getting a bit "friendlier" so we have that going for us. Yesterday I shared a photo of the Sun shining through our neighbor's tree. I got that shot while I was shooting some flowers and birds in our yard. Today I would like to one of the flowers with you.

This is one of our Vincas. I love these flowers. They are so resilient and can take a lot of sun and heat. They even do okay if I forget to water them every now and then.

And hey how about a quick video? I shot this after work today. It's one of our squirrels enjoying an afternoon peanut.

Hi all! Welcome to Friday and welcome to the latest edition of the Exploration Photography Daily View. Well Spring is almost over and in a couple of days it will officially be Summer. And I must say that it really feels like Summer around here. The days are hot and everything is at full bloom. In that light I would like to share this with you.

This is one of our many Vinca. In fact I have shared it before but being as it is one of my favorites I hope you don't mind another view. Beside no two photos are exactly the same and I really like the rain drops.

Around The House - May 31, 2015

Hi there folks! Wow wasn't the weekend quick? At least mine was. We did a lot of running yesterday and today we just did some work around the house. I didn't know what I was going to post for this weeks "full post" so I thought I would show you some shots I made today.

Exploration Photography Daily View - May 22, 2015

Hi there and welcome to the weekend! For today's Daily View I would like to share one of our vincas with you.

Vincas are one of our favorite flowers and they are very hardy. They stand up to the extreme Summer heat and last well into the Autumn months. We have many in pots in the front and back yards of our house.

October 16, 2014 - Photo Of The Day

After all of the rain yesterday the sun has finally come out and most of the clouds cleared away. It feels a bit like Summer around here. I can sure live with that! Even if only for a short time before the brisk Fall weather kicks in.

I was out on our deck enjoying the afternoon and noticed how healthy our Vincas are. We get them every year because they are so hardy. And that is what I am sharing with you today. In black and white.

I don't usually present flowers this way because most of my previous attempts have not turned out so well. But I am very pleased with this one. And just for contrast I will also show you the color version too.

What do you think? They both came out nice but I think I like the black and white better.

And before I go I just want to mention that today would have been my Mom's 83rd Birthday. Happy Birthday Mom :) I love and miss you so much but I know that you are always watching over me.

August 28, 2014 - Photo Of The Day

There seems to be a common theme with most of my photos so far. Nature. Mostly flowers. Hey, it's that time of year. Continuing with that theme I present to you today a shot of another one of our vinca. This time a purple one.

We usually only find red and white but this year we also found purple. I really like them and as I have said before these are very hardy and can handle a lot of heat and sunlight. In fact they thrive on it. 

As a bonus today I would also like to share something else with you. A short video I shot while photographing in Valley Forge the other day. 

 

I am doing this so you can experience, even for a short time, the peaceful and serene surroundings that I enjoyed that morning. If you listen carefully you can hear the bells at Washington Memorial Chapel on the other side of the field.

August 20, 2014 - Photo Of The Day

Here is today's Photo Of The Day.

This is one of the vinca on our deck. We have always had good luck with vincas because they are a very hardy breed and absolutely love sun and heat. In fact it is not always easy to buy them where we live. The township often buys them up because they are so hardy. At least that is what our local Home Depot told us.
