Saturday View - 7 September 2019 Edition
Today I would like to share a few shots I made last Saturday while on a Whale and Dolphin watching tour in Cape May New Jersey. Cape May Whale Watcher is a tour we have been on a few times and have always enjoyed. And this time it was even nicer because we went with friends from the campground. It was a great day. We didn't see any whales but we did see a lot of dolphins.
That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy as a clam? Are clams really happy? I don't know but you can take a look at this one and decide for yourself. I saw this little clam while at Stone Harbor Point on Saturday.

For today's view I would like to share this shot of the jetty at Stone Harbor Point Beach. This is from our Saturday evening trip. As I mentioned in yesterday's post we have never been there before but will certainly be returning. It's one of those places that was right under our noses but we just never made made it to before. I'm sure there's others out there too.

Throwback Thursday View - 6 June 2019 Edition
Today we travel back to June 6, 2015 in Wildwood Crest New Jersey. As you can see it was a rather dreary day on the beach. In fact we spent maybe 10 minutes out by the water when it started to pour rain. But a rainy day at the shore is still a good day.

A few months back around the middle of Winter I picked up a Sony digital camera at a thrift store for a really good price. It is used for sure but in overall excellent condition. And everything is there, even the box and instructions. I haven't used it much yet but I am starting to take it along with me when we go out. I had it with me at the camper last weekend and on Saturday night I shot a few pictures of the flame atop one of our torches. So for today's view I am sharing this simple flame.

Throwback Thursday View - 11 April 2019 Edition
Today's throwback takes us back three years to April 11, 2016. The place is the Atlantic City Boardwalk and the weather was way different from today's. Though today wasn't exactly hot it was on the warmer side at around 65° F. In 2016 we saw snow and it was a bit chillier. You can Click Here to see my original post.

Throwback Thursday View - 29 November 2018 Edition
Today's throwback is from November 29, 2016 in Atlantic City New Jersey. Here is one of the few (maybe only) black and white sunrise that I have ever shot. It;s funny I came across this today because I was thinking of doing some more black and white work. Stay tuned! And be sure to Click Here to see my original post.

Monday View - 5 November 2018 Edition
Every weekend from early Spring right into Autumn Kim and I drive past a series of lakes while on the way to the shore. And every time we drive by them I always say that one day I will pull over and snap some pictures. This has been going on since April. Well on our way home on Sunday I finally did it. We were running early and for once the sky was clear and it wasn't raining so it was the perfect time. I'm pleased overall but I wish I had taken a little longer and set up my shots better but I think you can see what I have been seeing for several months now.

For today's view I am sharing another shot from our Sunday visit to the beach in Avalon New Jersey. This time though we take to the sky. Well we look up from Monday's view and at least see the sky. And as pretty as it is remember it was very cold and windy. It was worth it though.

Monday View - 22 October 2018 Edition
I mentioned yesterday that Kim and I took a walk on the beach in Avalon, despite the cold and rather heavy winds. Considering we spent an entire Summer full of weekends at the shore we really didn't spend a lot of them actually at the beach. So next year we are going to make it a point to get there more often. After all it's only three miles away from camp. But our lack of visits to the sand wasn't why we went yesterday. Yesterday the sky was partly cloudy and that makes for some good shots over the ocean. And I got a lot of good stuff. Today though I am sharing something a little closer to the ground. There was a lot of seagulls and most of them were very young. If you have ever tried to photograph baby seagulls you probably know how difficult it is to get a good shot. They don't fly a lot but they sure are fast runners. And in the cold wind they seemed even faster. But I did get a few good frames and this is by far my favorite. I don't often name my photos but if I did I would call this one "Follow The Leader".

Today's throwback is from October 18, 2014 and was shot from outside of the Adventure Aquarium in Camden New Jersey. It is of course the Philadelphia skyline. A scene that is familiar to those who watch just about any news program in the region. Be sure to Click Here to see my original post.

I finally got to do a little shooting with my DSLR this weekend. Not a lot but a little is better than nothing. And a lot of it is just some simple shots from around our campsite. As we all know Fall is here and so is all of the things that come with it. Some good and some a little more eh. You know, things like cold weather and short days. And the chance of snow. That I could definitely do without. But on the good side there is always the Fall colors. The changing of the leaves and such. But enough of that for now. Here is today's photo. Not a leaf but a tree instead. A tree that will withstand Winter weather.

Wednesday View - 26 September 2018 Edition
Today I am continuing to clear out the photos on my phone with another snapshot+. Basically a snapshot that has been lightly processed before posting. Like yesterday's photo I shot this on Sunday morning right before we left for home. This mushroom was (and still is) growing inside of our screen house. I hope it's still there this weekend because I would like to get shots of it with my DSLR. For now though I think this came out pretty good.

Today I am sharing another snapshot+ from our weekend at the campground at the shore. Actually I shot this as we were leaving for home on Sunday afternoon. I guess if nothing else the rain we had made for a good photo.

We have gotten a lot of rain lately. Both here at home and at the shore. But there have been some moments in-between that have been at least a little dry and Saturday was one of them. We were able to enjoy the beach and were even able to relax by a campfire in the evening. And with the weather growing colder that is a good thing. Today's view is one of the many shots I made of Saturday's campfire. I love shooting them because no two will ever be the same. It is complete randomness. Enjoy.

Well I'm still a little under the weather today so another mobile update it is. That's okay though because I have a lot on my phone to share with you. The other day I posted a peacock sitting on a fence. Today I present his friend who decided to aim a little higher.

It seems that wherever I go squirrels seem to find me. Or maybe I find them? Either way that is what happened during yesterday's rainy day visit to the zoo. This guy was pretty friendly and was happy to take a couple acorns we found nearby.

So what do you do on a rainy day at the shore? Go to the zoo! The Cape May County Zoo is just minutes away from our campsite so we figured what the heck? It's free to visit and probably won't be busy. And we were right. We also knew from prior experience that the animals would be more active than on a dry hot day. Naturally I made lots of snapshots and for today's photo I am sharing this peacock with you.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View
Like many if not most weekends down the shore this summer we are getting a good amount of rain. But it's only Friday so perhaps we'll get a couple good days. And it's not a complete washout either. I even found some time to make a few snapshots. For today's photo I am sharing this one from just outside of Avalon.
That will do it for today. Thanks for stopping by!
