Welcome To The Friday View

Another week has come and gone and so has another month. I can't believe the year is almost over. I guess time flies when your having fun. And speaking of fun check out the fun I was having when I shot today's photo.

I shot this on our last morning in Virginia Beach. After the sunrise I was heading back to our condo in that building you can see toward the right side of the frame when I realized the footprints in the sand were mine. Being as we were heading home that morning I thought it fitting that the scene here shows me coming and going. Just like our trip.

Today's photo is made up of three of my favorite things. The beach, sun and of course a touch of wildlife. A seagull in this case. Shot at the golden hour, just after sunrise, is this little fellow strolling along looking for breakfast.

Exploration Photography Daily View - November 28, 2016

Hi and welcome to the Daily View!

The Golden Hour is a period of time just after sunrise and just before sunset.This can be a good time to photograph landscapes because of the nice golden red tint and much softer light. And in my opinion the best place to enjoy this magical time is at any shore point. For today's photo I would like to share such a scene. It was made from two desperate frames and merged in Photoshop.

This is the Absecon Inlet that flows between Atlantic City and Brigantine New Jersey. I shot it from The Flagship Resort from our 14th floor balcony just after the sunrise I shared yesterday. If you look along the shore you can see the uprights that used to support part of the boardwalk. Hopefully it will be rebuilt by next year.

October 13, 2014 - Photo Of The Day

After I shot the sunrise yesterday morning I started to head back down the boardwalk and to the motel. Because it was a beautiful morning however I made a couple of stops along the way. The sun is so easy to work with in the early hours of the day and with the boardwalk not being very crowded I thought it was a good time to photograph some of the scenery. This is one of my favorites.

This is Gillian's Wonderland Amusement Pier at 6th St and The Boardwalk. It is an indoor/outdoor amusement park that was founded in 1929. You can read about it at the official website here and here is the park's Wikipedia entry.

And continuing a recent theme I would like to share a short two and a half minute video I shot on the boardwalk. This shows how quiet it is that early.

As I mentioned before these videos are best when viewed in 1080P HD. And of course at full screen.
