Sunday View - 10 November 2024 Edition

This weeks view was going to be this mornings sunrise but as you will see it was pretty cloudy. The sky was beautiful but the sun was mostly hidden. I did sort of capture it in the last photo in this post but that was the best I could do. But I did get a lot of great shots of the geese that live at the park so the trip was worth it. I have included a cool video of them too.

Until next time...

Today's post is just a few quick shots of the sunrise over the Norristown Farm Park this morning. It was chilly and very clear and the sun was absolutely beautiful.

Today I would like to share some more photos from yesterday morning at the park. These are from before sunrise and as you can see it was a little foggy.

Saturday View - 22 June 2024 Edition

So I set out early today to grab this morning's sunrise. I got to the park around 5:30 am and was all set. The forecast was for mostly sunny skies, with the keyword being mostly. There was exactly one heavy patch of clouds and of course it was right in front of the sun. But not ready to give up I headed to another part of the park where I could wait it out so to speak and perhaps see the sun rise above the clouds. I knew it would be a lot brighter than I usually shoot but I came prepared. I was using a new variable neutral density filter that tames the light and also has the added benefit of protecting my eye when I look through the viewfinder. Well the sun finally did show itself and it was very much worth the wait. For today's view I would like to share a few of my shots with you.

Until next time...

Sunday View - 9 April 2023 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Happy Easter my friends!

When I woke up this morning one of the first things I did as I often do on the weekend is check the weather. More specifically I checked for rain or clouds. I knew it wasn't supposed to rain but you never know if it's going to be cloudy. Well upon looking outside I saw the moon was bright and clear in the sky so I figured I'd try for some sunrise photos. I grabbed my camera and got in my car and as I was driving the quarter mile to the park I remembered it was closed on many holidays. Fortunately though today wasn't one of them and I was able to park in my usual place and set up to shoot. I think I got some pretty good shots. In fact I had a bit of a time choosing what to share. But after looking them over I decided on these three for today's view.

And as you probably figured out already I did not make a second post yesterday with a video. After all I did say I "might". But I did do a little video this morning at one of the feeders and would like to share it with you. This was shot with my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Be sure to view it in 1080P and turn the volume up. The birds were very vocal.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Sunday View - 5 December 2021 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I am sharing another picture from sunrise yesterday morning. Like I said before there wasn't any sun to shoot but at least I had some scenery. This barn off in the distance serves as headquarters for the park. And as you can see there was the tiniest bit of color in the clouds. Still no sun though

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I am sharing a few more shots from our trip to the park on Sunday. A mix of flowers and general scenery. Hopefully we'll be able to visit some other places before too long. Until then though enjoy these.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Continuing with my shots from the park yesterday I would like to share another bird for today's view. But this is no robin. Kim spotted this guy along one of the wooded trails. I think he was stalking fish in the creek just below this area.

And this second shot is the edge of the creek. The swirling foam made this look like a Van Gough painting to me.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's view is another shot from yesterday's sunrise. This is when the sun was just about to tuck behind the clouds. You can also see a flock of geese.

Sunday View - 15 December 2019 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Well it's been quite a while but this morning was the morning. I got myself up early dressed and grabbed my camera then drove all the way down the street to the park, a whopping 1 1/2 to 2 minutes driveway to parking lot, to shoot the sunrise. When I got there however I wasn't very optimistic because it was very cloudy. But I figured I'd wait it out and even if I didn't get the sun I would be able to get some nice scenery. So I did get a lot of scenery but also much to my delight the sun showed up as well. There was a break in the clouds just above the horizon and it gave me about 5 minutes or so to get some good shots. And for today's view I would like to share this one with you.

Saturday View - 7 December 2019 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I made the long five minute trip to the local State Park just around the corner and took a brief walk on this balmy 35° F day. But though it was chilly at least it wasn't windy like most of the week has been. And we aren't seeing any rain either. I shot quite a few pictures along the way and even a video or two. And for today's view I would like to share a few with you.

Saturday View - 2 February 2019 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

It seems as if we are having a heat wave today. Temperatures made it all the way up to about 35° F! Hey, when it's been down to 0° F that's warm. With this warmer weather came lots of hungry birds and squirrels. They hit the Cafe early and often with me having to do two refills throughout the day. Gotta fatten them up so they can withstand these record low temps. Also with the slight warmup I was able to shoot some photos of our hungry friends. For today's post I would like to share this one.

This was just a drop in the bucket. At times this feeder was full all the way around with birds. So was the one next to it that is out of frame. Not to mention the other two at the back end of the Cafe.

Later in the afternoon I had to make a trip to the supermarket to pick up some things we forgot to get during our earlier shopping trip and on the way back I passed by my favorite sunset location and it was actually sunset. And I had my camera with me. So for a bonus I would like to share this with you.

Sunday View - 6 January 2019 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today was one of those busy Sundays that I intended to take a little time and shoot for a bit. Well it didn't work out that way. We had many errands to run and some work around the house to do so I didn't have much camera time. I did however take a few minutes on our drive home from the supermarket this evening to grab a few frames of the night sky with my camera phone. This is pretty much right out of camera though I did try to reduce the graininess a little in Photoshop. I love the silhouette effect.

Not bad for a camera phone huh?

Sunday View - 1 April 2018 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Happy Easter my friends. I hope each and every one of you had a great day spent with friends and family.

Today's view is a "Snapshot Plus". And it was quite unplanned. I had to make a quick run to the supermarket this evening around dusk and on my way I noticed a rather picturesque sunset. And as luck would have it I was in the right place at the right time. I was able to park and view it over one of the open fields of the Norristown Farm Park and snap a few shots with my phone. After a little touching up here is what I came away with.

Best of all I found a great spot to view future sunsets. Stay tuned.

Welcome To The Sunday View - Christmas Eve 2017

Merry Christmas Eve my friends. Kim and I have once again been busy preparing for our guests tomorrow for Christmas dinner. And I am happy to say I think we are just about there. But as busy as it has been I did manage to get out and shoot for a short time this morning. I tried for a sunrise but I was a tad late. I did grab this view though at the Norristown Farm Park which is literally about a hundred yards from our house.

Welcome To The Friday View

For this Friday's view I am sharing one more photo from last Sunday's walk in the park. The Norristown Farm Park that is for those who are new to my blog.

Of all of the things I like to shoot water is near the top of my list. Also up there is a good natural setting. And I am sharing both today. The reflections seen here are what caught my eye.

On another note...

Most of my photos include what I refer to as "Technical Info". This info is generally referred to as EXIF data and is embedded in a picture file automatically by most modern cameras. I share this data for anyone interested in what settings were used during the picture making process.

To freshen things up a bit I am tinkering with different ways to present EXIF data with you. And for today's post I am trying this.

This is simply a screenshot I grabbed in Photoshop. I am working with other methods and may try different ones over the next few posts until I find something I like best. Stay tuned.

And now...
