Today is probably the third time this week that I am sharing a rhododendron. I am always drawn to them and love to photograph them. Kim and I had one at our old house and actually talked about planting one at our new home next Spring. And if we do I will certainly place it on my list of things to shoot. Photography is the art of capturing light. And today's photo is a perfect example of this simple definition. This rhododendron caught my eye as I saw the sun shine trough and present a perfect shadow of the leaf on the other side.

Today's photo is one of several random plants I shot while at Jenkin's Arboretum yesterday. This one is interesting because it appears to be a mix between Fall colors and Spring blooms. It may be normal for this particular species of plant, a rhododendron, but I really don't know. It did however catch my eye and that is why I am sharing it with you today.

For a wild squirrel I have never seen before this guy was pretty friendly. He's probably used to being around people.

Hi and welcome to the Daily View!

Like I told you in yesterday's post Kim and I had a very busy weekend. But it was mostly "fun" busy so that is a good thing. Today as we were out and about we did make time to stop at one of my favorite photographing locations. Jenkins Arboretum in Devon Pennsylvania. Jenkins is very close to our home but for whatever reason we have not been there for quite some time. But we made up for it today because I got lots of good stuff to share with you and I even got to work on my current project. I mentioned about a week or so ago that I was working on a special project but it is going to take a bit of time. But I think it will be pretty cool and possibly a bit enlightening in the end. I hope you think so too when it is done. But enough of that for now. How about today's photo?

I believe today's photo is a first for me. It's one of those subjects that is not really rare but kind of hard to capture. Please have a look.

It's a chipmunk! Jenkins has lots and lots of chipmunks but as you may know they are very fast and very skittish. On top of that I didn't have my long lens and had to make do with my regular walk around lens. But I did my best and think it came out pretty good.

I also shot a few videos today and would like to share a couple with you.

Exploration Photography Daily View - July 6, 2015

Hi folks and welcome to today's Daily View! 

Yesterday I mentioned that I had driven over to Jenkin's Arboretum in Wayne, Pennsylvania to shoot some photos. Today I would like to share one with you. This is a small panorama made with my phone's camera. I adjusted it in Photoshop as usual. I still have mixed feelings as to the final result but overall I think I like it.

October 29, 2014 - Photo Of The Day

Today to continue with the "Sun" theme I am sharing one more photo from Jenkin's Arboretum on Sunday. Being cloudy and a little rainy today I figured we could use a little sunshine. So here you go.

And here is a time lapse video of today's sunrise. There wasn't a whole lot of sun but the colors are very nice. This is a span of about 41 minutes presented in just over one minute. I shot it with my Galaxy S4 using an app called "Lapse It Pro". Lapse It is great and worth a lot more than the $1.99 I spent for it. Here is their website if you would like to check it out.

October 26, 2014 - Photo Of The Day

The beautiful Saturday weather moved right on into Sunday. As usual I was up early so I decided to take a drive over to Jenkin's Arboretum to photograph the Autumn foliage. As depressing as the end of warm summer days is to me I must admit that the colors of Fall are wonderful. I got some great shots today and would like to share one with you. And here it is.

This is one of the many walking paths and like the others it was covered with lots of leaves. I'm sure glad it wasn't wet. The sun was also very strong and a little tough to work with at times but with a little effort the results should be pretty good. I'll be sharing some more photos from this trip over the next couple of days after I get a chance to do some post processing.

I would also like to share a short video that I shot today. It is best viewed in full screen in 1080P HD.
