Welcome To The "Throwback Thursday" View

Today we go back about two years. This is a shot of the Atlantic Ocean in Virginia Beach Virginia as the sun began to set. I'm not certain but I believe I shot it with my old Samsung galaxy S6. But it could have been the S4. Either way it came out good.

Welcome To The Wednesday View

While shooting flowers and butterflies the other day I also got the chance to photograph nature on a bit smaller level. Sharing yet another pic from Gardener's Basin in Atlantic City here is what I believe to be some kind of Box Elder Bug. Up close and personal.

Welcome To The Tuesday View

Today's photo was shot outside of the Atlantic City Aquarium. It was early on Sunday Morning and of course the aquarium wasn't open yet but it is close to our favorite AC breakfast spot, The Gilchrist Restaurant. Best pancakes EVER. But that's another subject. Anyway, the grounds around the aquarium are very nicely landscaped and maintained well too. On a good sunny morning the opportunity to make good images is almost unlimited. And Sunday was one of those perfect mornings. It was when I made the butterfly photo a few days ago and it's where I shot today's photo. This beautiful flower.

Welcome To The Monday View

This past weekend in Atlantic City turned out to be a really good one for photographing. None of it was planned either. Not even today's shot. But somehow things just fell into place and I was really "on". At least that's how it felt to me. I have some cool stuff to share. Some new stuff and some of my old favorites. And today I share with you this old favorite. The Sun.

Welcome To The Sunday View

Kim and I had another mini getaway to Atlantic City this weekend. We tend to go about once a month. And as usual I got lots of cityscapes and tons of shots of the ocean. Maybe even a sunrise? But I also spent some time photographing at Gardner's Basin which is just off of the Absecon Inlet which in turn is just off the Atlantic Ocean. But instead of the typical shots of boats water and wildlife I turned in a different direction. Flowers. And as I was shooting flowers I turned back to wildlife. And today I would like to share this with you.

Welcome To The Friday View

Hi friends.

Today I planned to do a regular post but due to some unforeseen circumstances I have just run out of time. But I should have some new stuff this weekend. For today however I am sharing a snapshot.

This is the daisy in our front garden. Every time I think it is done for the season another new flower blooms.

Welcome To The "Throwback Thursday" View

Hi friends. Every once in a while I like to change things up a bit on the blog. So for today's and for probably every Thursday post in the foreseeable future I am sharing a repeat of an older post. Sort of my own Throwback Thursday. Original huh?!

To start things off I thought it fitting to post a subject that has always been a big part of my interest in photography. The Sun. More precisely a sunrise. Today I share with you the early morning of October 19, 2015 at Valley Forge National Park.

Welcome To The Tuesday View

There's an old saying that "Three Squirrels Is A Charm". Right? Well okay maybe not. But if you ever hear it out there in the wild remember that you heard it here first!

So obviously I am sharing one more squirrel photo. My third in a row. Hence the three squirrels quote. I wasn't going to post another one this week but I like this one too much not to. This is right before this little guy grabbed some breakfast at that full bird feeder. He just couldn't resist.

Welcome To The Sunday View

It's Sunday evening and all I can think is how did the weekend go by so fast? I guess time does fly when you are having fun as they say.

Being Sunday I didn't have to be up real early but naturally the dog had other ideas. So up early I was. And not wanting to pass up a chance to get out into the Cafe and perhaps shoot some video or snap off a frame or two I grabbed my gear and headed out into the back yard. I made sure all of the feeders were full and then set up to see what I could see. And I saw a lot!

To that end I would like to share this little apple loving guy with you.

Welcome To The Saturday View

After all of the clouds and rain we had yesterday afternoon mother nature made a 180° turn and gave us plenty of sunshine and clear skies today. But it sure was hot and humid. Still is in fact.

But back to yesterday's rain.

After the rain we were treated to a beautiful rainbow. Today I would like to share it with you.

This is my view from in front of our house looking toward the Norristown Farm Park.

Welcome To The Friday View

Today's photo is another "Snapshot Plus". Meaning of course I made it with my camera phone but did a little tweaking. In the case of this particular shot I started with six separate frames and merged them in Photoshop. I also did some minor adjustments such as color correction and some miscellaneous levels.

Welcome To The Thursday View

On Saturday before we visited the zoo Kim and I made a quick stop to check out what I call "the other side of the Farm Park". In reality it is simply another entrance to the Norristown Farm Park that happens to be at the end of a dead end  road. And at this entrance there is a bridge that goes over a set of railroad tracks that I do not believe to be in use anymore. Naturally I grabbed a shot or ten and today I share this one with you.

Welcome To The Tuesday View

I have said it before but it is certainly worth repeating that not all of the animals and birds "on exhibit" at the zoo are actual zoo residents. This definitely applies to vultures. And though some do not see them as desirable birds vultures sure do play an important role in nature. And a lot of them call Elmwood home.

If you take the time to watch vultures you realize that they are not all that different from other birds. And one similarity is the stretching of their wings on a hot afternoon. It airs their feathers and helps to keep them cool. And this of course leads us to today's photo.

Today we take another look at our trip to Elmwood Park Zoo on Saturday. But this time I present you with one of the newer residents of the zoo. This is one of two leopard cubs that only recently went on exhibit. I also snapped some shots of the proud mom and pop that I will share in a future post.

Welcome To The Sunday View

Today was a good shooting day my friends. I got a lot of good stuff and was generally "on". I even discovered a new place right around the corner. And I will be returning there real soon. Most of my shots today however were made at a familiar place which is also close to home. The Elmwood Park Zoo. And my photo of the day is a subject I've shared many times over. The ever majestic American Bald Eagle.

Welcome To The Friday View

Friday at last! We have had so much going on this week that it seems to have just flown by. But it's still nice that it's Friday. And we still have a few things on our to do list for the weekend. They are all pretty much good things but it would be nice to have some time to just relax a bit.

As busy as today was with work and plans after work I still managed to do a little bit of shooting. I only went as far as our front garden but at least it's something. And I am sharing another mid/late Summer bloom. But there is some debate here about it. What I am showing you is a kind of ornamental grass. And it was already here when we moved in seven months ago. But there is a bloom of some sort coming up the middle of it. Kim thinks that the bloom is possibly a variety of hyacinth that is sharing space with the grass. I tend to think they are both one in the same. But it's too dark right now to take a better look so I will have to look tomorrow. Never the less though here is today's photo.
