For today's view I am sharing not one but two Schnitzel pictures. That's twice the Schnitzel. He actually cooperated for the camera. He didn't cooperate so well when I "asked" him to stop barking at literally anything or anyone that happened to walk by the house but at least he posed for my phone's camera.
It's Thursday Smidge picture day and I think it's a pretty good one. It was easy to get too because she was sleeping. In fact she was sleeping on the cat quilt my mom made for me many years ago. She was so talented.
Today we take a look at a few more night sky photos. The first one I shot last night over the course of a few hours and it shows star trails as the Earth rotates. The second two are from this morning before work. I am really liking this scene mode on my camera.
Today I am sharing a few shots I made at the Cafe after work today. As you can see it was busy as usual.
I also have one more shot I would like you to see. I shot this last night around 9 PM. And while this is not the best quality I still think it's pretty good. This is Jupiter and it's Moons.
I have been having a lot of fun shooting pictures of the night sky lately so I thought I'd share a few more for today's view. These were all made with the Star Scene mode of my Canon G9 X Mark II. A rather small but very capable and sophisticated camera. I also adjusted the images in Photoshop.
Well I wasn't sure if it was going to happen today. The Sunrise that is. Oh I knew the Sun would rise but with all of the clouds we had this morning I was very unsure is I would be able to see it let alone capture it on "digital film". But I was up and dressed anyway so I drove to the park and waited. And then I waited some more until I saw a small break in the clouds in just the right spot. And as I watched that spot I saw the bottom of the opening getting brighter and then I knew that I might get something worthwhile. And then the Sun made a very small and very short appearance. For today's view I would like to share what I saw. I am also sharing a few additional shots of the park to make up for a lack of Sunrise pictures.
I also have a few shots of the night sky from over the past few days I would like you to see. I am experimenting with a scene setting on one of my cameras and thought this would be fun. In the first shot I think I may have captured a satellite or perhaps a shooting star (aka meteor). But no matter what it was I can say for certain that there was no plane in the sky when I pushed the shutter release. Do be sure to click on each image to see it in full size. It may take a moment to load but it will be worth it.
What a difference a season makes. Literally. Just a few days ago we were at the end of Summer and the weather was hot and muggy. Then like magic it turns much cooler and comfortable on day one of Autumn. And it's continued right into the weekend. So with the much friendlier weather I decided to take a drive out to Morris Arboretum and check out something I have been wanting to see, the Wetlands. The Wetlands are located just at the entrance of the arboretum and at first may not seem like a lot. But once inside it is simply a thing of beauty. And you would never know you are actually in the City of Philadelphia. So for today's view I would like to share some pictures I made while there and also a few from the Rose Garden in the main part of the grounds. I have also included a video that is about eight minutes long. I think you will like it, just ignore my fingers that show up in front of the lens on a few occasions. I was too involved in discovering something new and held my phone wrong.
Well I was able to get a picture of Smidge today but I had to catch her off guard. I snapped this shot of her while she was cleaning herself. Smidge is a very clean cat.
Today I am sharing a few more pictures from the Cafe. The first one is from yesterday and the second two I made this afternoon. All of them are bluejays. Also, the first was made with my Canon 80D DSLR and the second two I shot with my Canon SX70 HS bridge camera.
Today we see a few photos I made at one of the feeders this afternoon. I just cleaned my camera sensor and I wanted to make sure it was okay so what better place to shoot off a few frames. Now that I know how easy it was I won't be so apprehensive to clean it again.
Today I am sharing a handful of random pictures that I shot yesterday while at the park for the sunrise. In fact I've included another sunrise photo too. These are just some pictures that I made while waiting for the sun to show it's face. I hope you like them.
After taking last Sunday off due to rain I headed to the Park today to grab some pictures of the sunrise. It was a bit cloudier than before and I had to wait for a while but eventually the sun did come into view and I was able to capture it. Because of it's height in the sky however I had a short window and had to shoot fast. And I did get a lot of good shots. But then I noticed something else. After five years or so my camera has developed several dirt spots on it's sensor and is in need of cleaning. And as such many of my pictures are not really usable. Yes, I clean them up in Photoshop and in fact did just that for the two I am sharing today but honestly it's just a hassle and time consuming. The good news is that I ordered a cleaning kit that will arrive tomorrow. I've never used one before but I'm sure it will go fine and with some luck I'll have a nice clean sensor next time. So anyhow I would like to share these two shots of this morning's sun.
And here is this morning's moon that I shot around 5:30 am. I used a tripod this time instead of shooting handheld so it's a little better tha my recent attempts.
And as an added bonus here is a short video of the moon. Nothing special but the crickets add a little background sound effect.
Today's view comes to you from right here at the Cafe. I was up bright and early as usual and after doing some of my normal morning routine I decided it would be a good time to do a little yard work. Nothing with power tools mind you because it was about 6:30 am. Hey it may have been early but the weather was perfect. Nice and cool but not cold and there was literally no sweating involved. So anyway after about an hour of this I decided to take a break and sit out back with my camera. After a few minutes of patiently waiting the guests started to arrive and presented me with a great opportunity to grab a few photos. And now I would like to share some of them with you.
