Today I share one more shot from last weeks visit to the zoo. Check out this proud fellow.

I think he is pretty young. Either that or he didn't open his feathers all the way. I must say that he seemed very comfortable around people though.

- Aperture Priority
- Aperture F8
- Shutter Speed 1/50 Second

Welcome To The "Throwback Thursday" View

Today's post goes back to around the time I first started blogging. I took a different approach back then. I didn't do a daily post but when I did one it was usually pretty big. I am thinking I might want to change things up a little and do more posts like those. But I still want to do this on a daily basis. So perhaps I'll do a monthly "full post" to start and see how it works out. What do you think? In the meantime enjoy this trip back to 2014. May 5, 2014 to be precise at one of my all time favorite places to shoot. Longwood Gardens. And one of my particularly favorite times of year. Tulip time!

Welcome To The Wednesday View

It's halfway through the work week and I am way more than halfway tired. I had a lot of yard work to do when I got home today. I don't mind though. I always feel like I've accomplished something when I am done.

For today's photo I would like to share this shot from our recent trip to the Cape May County Zoo. This guy is looking mighty ducky. Pun intended.

Welcome To The Tuesday View

From our trip to the Cape May County Zoo on Saturday I would like to share this with you. There is usually a deer or two in this area but I didn't see them that day. I don't know where they were but wherever it was I hope they were getting some food because this bowl is emptying fast.

Welcome To The Monday View

We were out walking around our neighborhood this evening enjoying the cooler weather when I took notice to a beautiful almost-full Moon. I have said it many times before but it's worth repeating that this time of the year and the Winter months are the best times to shoot the Moon. The air is crisper and there is much less haze. So when we got back from our walk I grabbed my camera and mounted it on my tripod, hooked up the remote shutter release and went at it. But this time I took a different approach. When shooting the Moon I generally underexpose the frame just a bit. I then brighten it up in post processing. The theory is that you can get better detail out of an image that is a little too dark than it is the tone down an overexposed image. And to a degree I agree with this. But I also think there is a happy medium to be found. And I think I may be on it's tail. Now this image is far from perfect. I'm working with consumer grade glass at a relatively short zoom. But I do my best to make it work. Please take a look. And if you are so inclined let me know what you think.

Welcome To The Sunday View

A good part of today was spent outside cleaning the yard and decorating for Halloween. And we could not have asked for a better day. The sun was shining and the temperature was just right for working. We got a lot done too. Well to be fair Kim did most of the decorating. I did a lot of hauling though. And that brings us to today's photo.

We had a couple of Adirondack chairs that needed to be moved from the front to the back of the house. And in doing so I learned something. I learned that even in the Fall you may see a praying mantis. And that they like our chairs. At least this guy (or girl, really don't know the difference) does.

He spent at least a few hours there. I waited to move the chair because I didn't want to disturb him. Then suddenly he took off somewhere. But I will say that he wasn't camera shy at all.
