Yesterday I shared a seagull that I saw while we were on the beach in Atlantic City. Today I am sharing another bird of sorts. But it's not the feathered kind. It's big and it's metal. Here is a Coast Guard helicopter that flew over the coast as I was searching out things to photograph.

Well folks it has been a very busy day. In fact a very busy weekend. And it went quick! Kim and I crammed a lot into our mini Atlantic City trip. And that means lots of pictures. We sat on the beach for the first time this season. While there I snapped off probably a hundred or so shots of the many seagulls in the area. So to start the Summer right I would like to share one with you. And there is plenty more where this came from.

It's getting a bit late my friends so let's get right into this.

This afternoon I had a chance to visit our local zoo. And man was it crowded. I couldn't believe how many people were there. Fortunately though it wasn't too crowded to grab some photos. And I got some good stuff. But the best thing is that after many months they had prairie dogs on exhibit. I have never gotten a clear answer as to why there were none for so long but I can only hope they are here to stay.

While out in the Cafe early this morning I noticed a bird that we see now and again but not too often. That would be this guy. A Red Bellied Woodpecker.

I shared a similar image earlier this year but identified it incorrectly. At the time I said this was a Northern Flicker Woodpecker. But have since discovered it to be a Red Bellied. They are similar though.
