Hi there my friends. For today's view I would like to share a few shots of some of the many geese that fly over the park almost every day. Most of them seem to be on a journey somewhere but a few of them do land in the fields for a rest and I suppose for food. Or like yesterday they are also attracted to the temporary pond caused my the snow and rain.
That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi there my friends. Well after some really cold and snowy weather last week it has now warmed up a bit. In fact it was around 60° F yesterday. It's also been raining on and off and as such most of the six or so inches of snow we got has melted. And that is kind of what today's view is about.
I headed to the park up the road today to get some shots of the geese flying overhead. We see them year round but today there was a lot of them. When I got to the park though I saw something I wasn't expecting. A pond has formed in one of the fields. The rapidly melting snow and rain created a temporary oasis for the ducks and geese in the area. And they were taking advantage of it.
Here's a quick video to show you just how big this pond is. Oh and as for the flying geese, I'll share them either tomorrow or in one of next weeks posts.
That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

This is a view from my back yard (aka The Cafe) looking across my neighbor's yards with the Sun in the background.

Hi there my friends! Okay as I said yesterday I am making a small change to this blog. And it really is small but will make it easier for me to share every day. And here it is. Weekend posts will remain pretty much the same if not a little more detailed and hopefully better. During the week when time is a little more limited they will be briefer. What I mean is that there will be at least one photo but no commentary. Believe it or not that is the hardest part of posting for me when time is short. You'll see what I mean tomorrow. Of course if I happen to have something bigger to share I will. And that will be more likely in the summer months when the days are longer. So that's it and it's not really that big of a difference. So now for today's view.
It was another cold morning but it was really clear so I decided to grab some sunrise shots at the park.It was 20°F when I got there but at least the wind had calmed down since yesterday. At least at sunrise because it's a little breezier now. So I was able to grab some really nice pictures of the snow covered fields and the sun as it rose above the horizon. And I know I've mentioned this before but the reason the pictures get darker is because as the sun rises it gets brighter. I meter on the sun and this darkens the rest of the image so the entire frame doesn't get washed out. I shoot without any filters and this is the result. I may get a filter and see what happens sometime.
That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi there my friends. As you may have noticed I have not posted for a few days. This is in part due to the weather and the duties that go with clearing snow and ice. But I have also been working on a little redo. And it really is little but will make things a lot easier for me. Especially during the winter months with shorter days. The result will ultimately be a post every day. I'll explain a little more tomorrow.
Today's view is something I haven't been able to share for about two years. Snow at Valley Forge. Oh there's been small dustings but nothing significant until this week. It snowed all day yesterday leaving a powdery four to six inches depending on where you were. But the temperature dropped to 14°F overnight and made everything solid. So I took a drive to Valley Forge and grabbed a handful of shots. Though I didn't spend a lot of time there due to it being 21°F and windy. But here is what I got before calling it a day.
That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi there my friends. Yesterday may have been windy and eventually it turned cloudy but I was able to set up at one of the feeders and got some nice shots. And for today's view I would like to share this really pretty female cardinal who stopped by for some sunflower seeds.
That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi there my friends. I was up nice and early today as usual and thought it might be a good time to grab some sunrise shots. So after checking the weather and hearing the skies were clear I got dressed and headed to the park. And while it was mostly clear there was some clouds on the horizon. But the sky was beautiful and I was able to get some good stuff. And now for today's view I would like to share these with you.
That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!
