It seems that today's theme is orchids. And Longwood has many different variety. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I just wish my own orchids would bloom this nicely.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today was probably the warmest of the year so far and Kim and I took advantage of it. The Sun was shining and temperature topped out at around 78° F which was perfect weather to head out to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square Pennsylvania. With camera in hand of course. And though it's still early Spring we saw lots of blooms. today I would like to share some with you.

It was nice to get out and shoot for a while. Recently it seems like there is just little time to do so. I guess the colder seasons are a big part of it. Today though I think I captured some really good stuff. Stay tuned over the next couple of days for more.

Throwback Thursday View - 28 March 2019 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's throwback takes us to March 28, 2015 in Ocean City Maryland. My original post, which you can see by Clicking Here, has several photos however I am featuring one that I am really fond of. The Sun, sky and clouds are among my favorite subjects and this shot covers them all with a touch of Moon for good measure. Though the Moon part can be labeled as "sort of". Take a look and you'll see what I mean.

I know this looks like the Moon but it's really the Sun. I shot this with no filters. Only clouds. The clouds made it possible to aim at the Sun. With that being said I would like to remind you that shooting the Sun can be dangerous and you probably shouldn't take the risk unless you protect your eyes. And your camera's sensor may not like it either so if you go for it be quick.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's photo is a true sign of Spring and hopefully Summer real soon. Though we have had robins for about a month this is one of the only "good" shots I have been able to capture. I say "good' because I had to grab and shoot very quickly before he flew away and had little time to check my settings. Perhaps Auto Exposure nay have been a better option in this scenario. I rarely use it but for a snapshot it can be useful.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today I am sharing a couple snapshots I made this afternoon in our back yard. I am happy to say that the honeysuckle bush I planted last year is doing well and is growing new leaves every day. It's also wrapping itself around the trellis I put next to it.

I am not really experienced with honeysuckle bushes and learned that new leaves sprout from what looks like dried up vines. I'm glad I left them alone to do their thing.

As you may know I photograph lots of squirrels. Yes, I know it's hard to believe but it's true (Ha Ha).  But every once in a while I get a really good shot. And sometimes it's an action shot. Today was one of those days. Okay, it's not a masterpiece by any stretch but I am pretty happy with it. I hope you enjoy it too. This guy was perched in one of our dogwood trees eating peanuts. As he finished a peanut he would jump down and grab another and return to his favorite branch and chow down. After doing this for about ten minutes he decided to jump down and run into a neighboring yard and that's when I captured this.

What a difference a day makes. Though the weather today wasn't as nice as Friday it was certainly better than yesterday. The high winds from Saturday gave way to a more gentler breeze and the temperatures were a tad warmer too. And I had time to spend in the Cafe. Camera in hand of course. Today's weather has brought us lot and lots of wind along with some rather cool temperatures. At least it's dry I suppose. Yesterday though was a perfect Spring day even though Spring is still a few days away. I took advantage and did some work in the yard and generally spending time outside. When I was done cleaning up Winter's debris and raking I grabbed my camera and shot some photos of a few of our squirrels who were also loving the weather. Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

It's almost Spring and many of our plants are finally starting to show signs of life. Yesterday I shared our daisy. Today I am sharing our hyacinth. This hyacinth is a bit different from the rest of our flowers in that it was literally down to nothing. Well almost nothing. There was barely even a leaf. But I kept it moist and hoped for the best and now look at it.

Okay, it may not be big but it's growing. And before we know it it will be tall and have it's very string scented purple flowers.

Recently I went over all of our houseplants and kind of spruced them up a little. I removed dead leaves and replaced soil as needed and even re-potted what was too large for it's current pot. Two of our plants, our hyacinth and our daisy, had not grown much or bloomed for a very long time. But they had healthy leaves so I kept them. Well now it seems that they are finally going to flower. And for today's photo I would like to share this very young daisy with you.
