Hi all. Today I was going to share some more photos of our weekend trip with you but I just haven't had time to process them. So instead I will show you today's sunrise.
Today is Kim's birthday so I thought it would be nice to get up and shoot this for her. I am just glad that the weather cooperated because by the early afternoon it was cloudy and by the evening we had rain. Happy Birthday Baby, I Love You :)
And as for the Amaryllis...
Two more flowers are open and we have one more to go. It may be a little while though because it is still a bud. I give it about two weeks but we'll see.
And that's all for now. I hope to have more Ocean City photos for you soon. I have some really nice stuff to share. Thanks for stopping by
Until next time...

March 30, 2015 - Photo of The Day
Well it's Monday and that means it was back to work. I had a lot of things to catch up on after being away on a three day weekend and it is getting late so this will be a quick one.
Today I would like to share a few more photos from our trip to Assateague on Saturday. This first one is a panorama I shot along the side of a road in the park. It is made up of four separate frames and was merged in Photoshop.
Here is a sign warning us about the dangers of the wild horses. Very professional and what a great representation of a horse.
And how about a couple shots of the horses. These were nowhere near the beach by the way.
And what trip to a shore town would be complete without a seagull?
And I also have another video for you. This is from the beach on Sunday morning and is about five minutes long. I think you will like it.

And here is a shot of our Amaryllis. Two more flowers are opening and there is still one more bud. That will make four flowers in all.
And that's all for now folks. Not bad for a quick post huh? Thanks for stopping by.

March 29, 2015 - Photo Of The Day
Well we're home from Ocean City and it's back to work tomorrow. I have a lot to show you but today I am going to share one photo from our trip. Okay well one photo and maybe a video or two. So let's get started. Here is this mornings morning sky. This was shot about five minutes after sunrise. I did get the sunrise but I am still working on the final version.
I may not have finished the sunrise photo yet but I did get a pretty good video. It's kind of long but you can always fast forward if you like. Check it out at the link below.

And here is a video I shot with my Midland XTC 280 Action Cam. I am glad it was in it's waterproof case...

And finally the wait is over. We no longer have an "Amaryllis Watch" We have an Amaryllis!
And that's all for now. But I will be back real soon with a lot more. Thanks for stopping by.

March 28, 2015 - Photo of The Day
Kim and I are still in Ocean City, Maryland and though I wasn't convinced it would the sun finally arrived too. Of course it brought a lot of wind and cold weather with it. Some snow too. But even in all of this I managed to grab a lot of photos. And I got some really good one's too. Today I would like to share a few with you. So let's get right to it shall we?
These first two were shot right off the Ocean City Boardwalk.
I actually shot a similar photo of this jetty a few years back. It was good but I have been wanting to redo it for a while. I'm not 100 percent sure that I am satisfied with this but I have plenty of shots to work with. I may share an updated version later on.
This is a different and smaller jetty about 6 or 7 blocks away from the first one.
I grabbed this next shot after I happened to look up and saw that the sun was apparently muted in the clouds and atmosphere. Truthfully I do not know what causes this and will have to read up on it. What I do know is that when it does happen it is nice to have my camera ready.
Yes. That is the sun. Kind of looks like the moon doesn't it?
Now this last shot was made when we took a drive over to Assateague Island. I am actually quite amazed that it came out as good as it did. When I shot this it was very cold and windy. I am talking about 37° with 30 MPH winds. Not friendly for holding a camera still and even more difficult at a long zoom. This horse was about 50 yards away.
I am sure most of you know about the wild horses of Assateague but for those who don't you can check out this link. This is one of about 120 wild horses on the northern part of the island.
And before I go we have today's "Amaryllis Watch" photo. Now I am obviously not at home and could not shoot this myself. So for today I have a "guest photographer". Our son Terry sent me a picture he shot with his IPhone. Being that it was sent in a text and of course compressed it became slightly degraded but you will get the idea. It is really starting to bloom. I am sure that by tomorrow it will be fully open. Thanks for the assistance Terry!
And I have one more thing to show you. Here is a video of our drive through Assateague.

March 27, 2015 - Photo of The Day
Hello from beautiful Ocean City, Maryland. The beauty may be hiding behind some rain and clouds but I promise you it is there. I am hoping for some warmer, clearer weather because Kim and I are staying on the twelfth floor of an ocean front condo and I have a great vantage point for a potentially incredible sunrise photo or two. I guess we'll see. Anyhow I did get a few shots today and would like to share one with you. After we ate I tried a little nighttime photography and came up with this.
This is a thirty second exposure and it was almost pitch dark when I shot it.
And of course I shot a short video. This is from earlier in the day. Check it out at the link below.
Cloudy Oceanfront <<< Click here
And before we hit the road this morning I took a quick "Amaryllis Watch" photo. My Canon was packed already so I grabbed this with my camera phone.
Not my best work but you get the idea.
And that's all for now folks. I hope to have some really cool stuff for you real soon. Thanks for stopping by.

March 25, 2015 - Photo Of The Day
Today I would like to share a few more photos from Saturday's trip to the zoo. I have gone over most of the RAW files and for now I think this may be it. Though you never know. I may process a few more. But for now this is it. So let's get started shall we.
I would also like to share this with you.
This is a photo of me recording a time lapse of the sunrise. That's my phone mounted to one of my tripods. And in case you are interested I use Lapse It Pro for Android to shoot my time lapse movies. It is probably the best $5.00 I have ever spent on an app. And if you are an Apple user it is available for you too.
So since I posted this photo obviously have a sunrise to show you. Check it out at the link below.

March 24, 2015 - Photo of The Day
When we think about going "to the zoo" we usually think about lions and tigers and bears...Oh My! Sorry, I had to do that. But it is true. We think about big furry animals. Maybe birds too. But today I would like to share three photos I made of some of our smaller friends. Here we have some tiny (but poisonous) frogs.
Believe it or not even though these frogs were not really moving too much they were harder to photograph than the large active zoo animals. The problem is the lighting and shooting through glass. But I think these came out okay.
And of course here is today's "Amaryllis Watch" photo. It's really starting to open now. I would say that it will fully bloom this week.
Thanks for stopping by my friends. Please be sure to stop back soon. I have some cool stuff coming up soon.

March 23, 2015 - Photo of The Day
Today I would like to continue with photos from Saturday's trip to the zoo. But before I get to that let me share this mornings beautiful sunrise with you.
And now for today's zoo pics. I still have a lot to process but I am getting there. In the meantime please enjoy these.
These Goats are in the petting zoo.
And here is one of my favorites. The River Otters!
How about a climbing Porcupine?
And not all of the animals are officially on exhibit.
This was shot through a fence but I was able to use the magic of photography to mostly eliminate it from the photo. Actually it is as simple as zooming in for the shot and increasing the contrast in post processing with Photoshop.
And before I go here is today's "Amaryllis Watch" photo. We are really close.
And I have one more thing for you before I go. Here is a quick video of the River Otters.

March 22, 2015 - Photo Of The Day
Yesterday I told you that I shot a lot of photos at the zoo and I wasn't kidding. In fact I shot over 700 frames. Now of course I won't be processing all of them. In fact only about 20 - 25 will make the final cut. And that is if I'm lucky. This is why I love digital. Though that can be a two way street. Something that I have talked about before is that digital may give us the freedom to shoot many more photos than we will ever actually use but film makes us more careful. With film you literally pay for every shot. And that price is much higher today than it was 10 years ago. So anyway today I looked over about 100 photos and I have three I would like to share with you.
First we have the chatty owl from yesterday's video.
And here is one of the swans. This was the only water fowl that we saw.
And here is one of the zoo's Jaguars.
And finally we have today's "Amaryllis Watch" photo. I know I keep saying we are getting close but I think we really are. It has opened just a little bit more.
And so we once again call it a day my friends. I thank you for stopping by and as always invite you back to see what I post next. And don't forget that if you like my blog please feel free to share it with others. I would love to have them check it out.

March 21, 2015 - Photo of The Day
The snow is gone and it feels like Spring again. Well at least there is no more snow falling. There is still a lot on the ground but it is melting. Hopefully in a few more days it will all be gone.
With the weather change I though it would be nice to take a trip to the local zoo. And I was right! It was just warm enough to be outdoors for a long period of time but it was also wet enough that the zoo was not crowded at all. And above all most of the animals were active. I shot a lot of photos and it will take a while to go through all of them. But I did process a few and would like to share them with you. These are all photos of the American Bald Eagles that call the zoo home. Except for the first. The first shot is of another bird. A vulture in fact. You see the zoo had been inundated with vultures for a few years now. It's almost like they are an exhibit but no they just "live" there. And it does take it's toll. This first image is evidence of this toll. And it's not pretty.
As you can see the vulture is eating. It's eating one of the Koi that live in the pond in the Eagle exhibit. This one was not so fortunate and became someone's lunch. But I suppose it's just nature.
Okay enough of that. Here are the Bald Eagles.
This guy was a little noisy. I was going to do a video but as soon as I got my phone out he shut up. Oh well maybe next time.
Here are a few more shots.
And since I couldn't get the Eagle to "talk" on video here is a bird that was happy to speak his mind. Click the link below.

March 20, 2015 - Photo of The Day (Hello Spring)
Well like the title says, hello Spring. Yeah right. Here are my first day of Spring photos.
A little whiter than expected and a bit chilly too. I hope this is indeed the last snow of the season but who knows? At least it is going to be warm tomorrow and a lot of this will melt.
And here is today's "Amaryllis Watch" photo. It sure is getting tall. And its opening a bit wider too. You can't see it here but it really is. And of course I did not leave it in the snow. It is back on our front windowsill.
And that's it for today. How was your first day of Spring? If you are near here you probably had snow. You can tell me about it in the comments. Thanks for stopping by.
Until next time...
