Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Hi there my friends. It seems as if summer has arrived, at least for the next few days. And I finally got a chance to get out with my camera today and headed to the local zoo. I haven't been there since last year and I must say that it's grown since. They are in the middle of a large expansion that will probably double it's size. There's still a lot to go but it's getting there. I did get a lot of photos but for today's view I am focusing on one subject that happens to be one of my favorites. The river otters. I will share a lot more in the next few posts.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Hi there my friends. Well it's been another busy day around here and now that things have slowed down it's off and on rainy. So I haven't had a lot of time out with the camera. For today's view I would like to share another view of the sun from a few days ago.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today we are heading inside and away from the Cafe and taking a look at what is basically a once a year event. This is one of my two Amaryllis that has decided to bloom. And there is really no schedule or rhyme or reason as to when it will bloom. It's happened in the Winter and Summer and sometimes like now in the Spring. This is the older of the two being about 10 years old. An interesting side note is that I originally forgot about it after I purchased it as a kit. It came packaged with a pot, soil and of course a bulb. And it sat in a closet for several months until I came across it and decided to give it a try. Well as you can see it certainly paid off. Now maybe the second will decide to flower. We'll just have to wait and see.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Hi there my friends. I got a lot done around the Cafe today. I even added a new camera at one of the feeders that should provide some nice video. I just need to fine tune it a bit. So being busy most of the day I didn't get a lot of time in shooting. But I did grab some shots at one of the suet feeders. And for today's view I would like to share a few with you. Here is three different woodpeckers. Two Red Bellied and one Northern Flicker.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Friday View - 19 April 2024 Edition

Today I would like to share a new guest that showed up at the Cafe today. Though common all around North America I don't remember seeing a Northern Mockingbird around here. They are probably all over the place but just not at my feeders. This one has been enjoying sunflower seeds all afternoon.

Monday View - 15 April 2024 Edition

Hi there my friends. Today I am sharing something a little different but also a little the same. For many years I have shared my images of the Sun but today for the first time I have used a solar filter. All this time I have been shooting through an uncovered lens. I think I've done pretty well too. Today though I was able to shoot in the afternoon at full brightness.

Until next time...

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Hi there my friends. What a beautiful day this has turned out to be. It's sunny and 75° F (24° C) and just a great time to work in the yard. I did some very needed pruning to the big bush in front of the picture window and got a lot of raking and mowing done. There's still plenty to do but at least I can see the difference. I also deep cleaned the Cafe feeders and water bowls. When I was done I set up at one of the suet feeders to see if anyone would stop by and sure enough I had a couple visitors. And for today's view I would like to share them with you.

I would also like to share a short video captured by the Cafe's new "Front Feeder Cam". This was sometime in the middle of the night.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Last Saturday I installed a new feeder on the oak tree here at the Cafe and I even shared some really cool photos of our squirrels enjoying a meal from it. Well apparently one of our nighttime visitors decided to sit on it and it broke. I am guessing it was a racoon. So now I need to try to repair it. But in the meantime I have put up a different feeder. I'm hoping this one lasts a bit longer. And now for today's view I would like to share these with you.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Hi there my friends. Well I guess it's no secret that today we experienced a solar eclipse. We weren't in line for a total eclipse but it did get fairly dark. And of course I had my camera on hand to see what I could capture. So now for today's view I would like to share some of my photos with you.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

I told you yesterday that I had to replace a few of the feeders here at the Cafe and showed you one of them. Well today I would like to share another one with you. This one is not so much of a replacement as it is an addition. I installed this picnic table squirrel feeder on the oak tree in the front yard, right next to an older and quite worn corn cob feeder. For now I am leaving the old one up because as you will see our squirrels use it to sit on. Eventually I'll replace it with a new one. So today's view shows how popular the picnic table is already. And in addition to a few photos I am also sharing a sort video.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Hi there my friends. The weather is starting to dry up here a little and though we had a brief shower today I was able to get a little yard work done. In fact I mowed the lawn for the first time this season. I also spruced up a couple of the feeding stations. The feeders were a couple years old and were showing a lot of wear so I grabbed a couple new ones and put the up. And it didn't take long for our guests to show up. So for today's view here is a few shots I made. This particular feeder replaced the picnic table shaped cedar feeder that was located at the rear seating area.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Thursday View - 4 April 2024 Edition

Today I would like to share two shots with you. A before and after actually. I shot this one Saturday before the rain came while at the park. The first is straight from the camera with the only adjustment is it being converted from a RAW image to a PNG. The second was after being fully adjusted in Photoshop.
