I spent a lot of time today cleaning and sprucing up the Cafe. In fact I was in the yard most of the day. It was a lot of work but things are looking good. I am even thinking of changing up things a bit. For the better of course. Anyway I didn't spend a lot of time behind the camera but I did grab a few shots. It's another rainy day here. But could it be any other way? It seems to rain a lot on holiday weekends. But rain or no rain The Cafe is always busy. Today we had a lot of Bluejays stop by for peanuts. And as usual I was ready with my camera so I could share a couple pictures with you.
These were shot with my Canon 80D and processed on my Galaxy S21 Ultra with Photoshop.

When I shot today's view I knew right away that I had to share it with you. We haven't seen a lot of wildlife today with all of the rain we have been getting but this cardinal took advantage of the food I had just put out and I had my camera nearby. She got spooked and flew off after I shot this but soon returned with her appetite. Remember, even in the rain our wildlife needs to eat.

Well folks, after years of daily posts without missing a day it finally happened. I missed a day. But hey I'll make up for it by posting two pictures today. Actually it's the same picture twice, sort of. I just cropped one so you could see more detail. Kim and I took a walk along the beach in Avalon this morning before it got too hot and of course I grabbed a few shots. This is the base of a pier. I think those are a bunch of clams attached to the bottom but I could be wrong. They are definitely some kind of shelled sea life. I just thought it was cool.

Today I share with you this, well I'm not sure what it is. Some kind of worm or insect maybe? All I know is I almost walked into it at the campsite Sunday. It was hanging from a tree branch and was making its way up. I would like to add it was very difficult to get a good shot because it's kept swinging in the wind. But here you are.

Where does a 150lb rodent sit? Well, wherever he wants of course! And this is where this capybara wanted to sit. Under an umbrella. And what a wonderful day it was to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Naturally I shot this during our trip to the zoo yesterday. And there's plenty more where this came from.

Today for the first time this season Kim and I visited the Cape May County Zoo just down the road from our camper. It's an amazing zoo and always seems to get better and better each time we go. And you can't beat the price, free. But I do recommend making a nice donation of you visit. It's really worth it. Anyway I got lots of great photos today. So many so that it was tough to pick one to share. But I decided on this really cool guy. This is one of many peacocks that roam the grounds. And he wasn't too shy to show off his feathers.

On Saturday evening while at the shore Kim and I had a wonderful dinner at a restaurant called The Tuckahoe Inn located in Tuckahoe New Jersey. Actually I think it's in Mamora but I could be wrong. But I can say it's about 20 minutes from our camper right up Route 9. It's also on the water and has beautiful views. Views like this one that we enjoyed after our meal.
