Tuesday View - 12 May 2020 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

I buy a lot of cameras. Mostly film cameras from the 80's and 90's but I also have a lot older and newer than that. Prices vary but every once in a while I'll come across a real bargain. Today's view was shot with a bargain. I shot it with a Sony DSC-HX200V. Top of the line? Maybe not. But it is packed with features including a 30x Optical Zoom that is equivalent to about 810mm and GPS. The settings include AUTO, Time Value, Aperture Value and Full Manual in addition to some other modes. It came in it's original box and I got it for less than $50.00. On the downside it only saves images in JPG format with no RAW option but it's still pretty nice. The photo I am sharing is a shot of the Moon. Considering that I shot this hand held without a tripod I think it came out pretty good. Next time I'll mount it properly.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Merry Christmas my friends!

Today's view is going to be quick. I did a little experimenting last night with the new old camera and here is what I came up with. This is of course our Moon.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Thankfully I was off from work today and the weather wasn't too bad. I took advantage of the situation and took a little time to go out and play with my new old camera for a bit. And of course I am sharing some of the days pictures with you in today's post. Unlike yesterday though I did do some cropping and very minor adjustments. In fact I'm sharing a couple in both black and white and color. So take a look and let me know what you think. And have a very Merry Christmas!

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

While perusing one of our favorite second hand stores yesterday I found the latest addition to my camera collection. This one however is a lot less vintage and a lot more usable on a regular basis. And I bought it with one main thing in mind. Shooting the Moon. The camera is a Sony DSC-HX200V digital with a 30X optical zoom lens that is the Equivalent to about 810mm. You can Click Here if you would like to learn more about it. While it's not a replacement for my DSLR it is a great carry around camera for when changing lenses would be a hassle.

I got my new used camera home and really wanted to test it out but as luck would have it the skies were (and still are) cloud covered. So what do I do? I shoot a bunch of squirrel pics of course. And today I am sharing a handful of them with you. These are straight out of the camera with no adjustments made. I just want to see what this thing can do. And it seems it can do a lot. I shot these handheld and at a fairly long distance.
