Well Fall is in full swing and the ground is covered with lots and lots of leaves. And to me those fallen leaves are the star of the season. As I walked around the park on Sunday morning I couldn't help noticing how perfectly placed the leaves were and I took the opportunity to photograph a bunch of them. Nature truly is a wonderful artist. For today's view I would like to share some with you.

Well I was up nice and early on what turned out to be a very clear morning. A very cold morning but very clear too. It was 31°F when I woke and made it all the way to 34°F by the time I headed to the park to shoot this morning's sunrise. But though it may have been cold it was a worthwhile trip. I got a few good pictures of the sun but there was so much more. And I will be sharing some of it over the next few days. For now though here is the sunrise.

I shot today's view yesterday afternoon while gazing out the front door. There was a lot of squirrels foraging for peanuts but this one in particular was enjoying some feed corn I gave them. I had to shoot this through the storm door but I still think it turned out pretty good.

I set out this morning with a little hope of catching a sunrise. But as most of you in the Philadelphia and suburban region probably know there is way too many clouds for the sun to break through. So since I was at the park I decided to shoot a bunch of Autumn pictures. But I am not sharing them today. I have a some work to do with them. So for today's view I am sharing some images I made this morning right here at the Cafe. We had plenty of guests grabbing a bite to eat trying to beat the rain we are supposed to see today. I just hope the rain doesn't delay the ballgame this afternoon where I hope the Phillies win the National League Pennant and move on to the World Series. Go Phils!

Saturday View - 22 October 2022 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's view is three photos I shot this past week. The first two are images of the night sky. I have learned that shooting the night sky when the Moon is present can be difficult but not impossible. At least that's the way it has been using the built in scene mode on the Canon G9X Mark II. The Moon provides a good amount of ambient light that washes out the stars the camera is trying to capture. As such the exposure time is longer making the scene brighter. As bright as daylight actually. But I was able to grab a couple acceptable pictures that I am sharing here. Be sure to click on these and actually any image I share. They are large and may take a moment to load but the result is a better view.

This next shot is the Moon. I set up on a tripod this time and got a much clearer image.

Today's view is a little unusual. We get a good number of woodpeckers here at the Cafe but usually I will see them at one of the suet feeders. What's unusual is to see them at one of the seed feeders. And that's what I saw today. This guy hung around for a while too giving me the opportunity to get a lot of shots. Good morning (or good whatever time you are reading this) my friends. As usual I was up nice and early today and had plenty of time to get myself over to the park to shoot what turned out to be a beautiful sunrise. There was just the right amount of clouds and a perfectly clear path in the sky for the sun to show itself. Of course it was a little chilly but that's to be expected this time of year.
