Sunday View - 11 August 2024 Edition

Hi there my friends. I know it's been a while since I have posted. It's been busy around here and the weather has been very hot making going out with the camera less than appealing. But after weeks of temperatures in the 90's we are finally getting some relief. I am hoping the worst part of summer is over but we'll see.

I may not post every day but I'll do my best to share as often as I can, starting today. And for today's view what better than some of our Cafe squirrels. They are very active now that it's much cooler.

Until next time...

Monday View - 22 July 2024 Edition

For today's view here is a shot from one of the Cafe feeders. This is a new one that is a bit shaded so I need to work with the settings a little.

Until next time...

Wednesday View - 10 July 2024 Edition

Today's view defines the weather we have had for the past several days. This little guy was just trying to cool off from the 90°F + temperatures.

Saturday View - 6 July 2024 Edition

Today I'm trying something that I've done a few times before. The photo I am sharing is not done yet. As I type this my camera is set up at one of the feeders waiting to see who will stop by. A little later I will check to see what I've captured. Hopefully I will get a guest but with this very hot weather who knows? It is now 4:52 PM and the current temperature is 95°F (35°C).

It's now 8:33 PM and still hot at about 90°F. But I did get a pretty good shot.

Until next time...

For today's view I would like to share a couple shots of some grackles at one of the feeders and a quick video of some hungry guests.

Monday View - 24 June 2024 Edition

Yesterday afternoon I set up my camera at the rear feeding station of the Cafe and grabbed a bunch of good shots. For today's view here is one of our regulars enjoying a bite to eat. Hopefully he had a drink too.

Until next time...

Sunday View - 23 June 2024 Edition

It's another VERY hot one today my friends with a current temperature of 95°F. I was up early and went right out to the Cafe feeders to clean, fill and of course make sure there was plenty of clean, cool water. I even did a bit of trimming and weeding and all of this at around 5:30 am. And it was still 79°F. So obviously I didn't get out with my camera. I did grab a quick squirrel photo and also set up at the suet feeder. For today's view here is what I got.

 Until next time...

Sunday View - 23 April 2023 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

I did a lot of shooting at the Cafe today and captured a lot of pictures of our guests. And what a variety we saw. But for today's view I would like to share just two visitors. And they both happen to be squirrels. I have learned that squirrels like black oil sunflower seeds a lot more than they like peanuts. I guess that's good because the seeds are a lot better for them.

I would also like to share a video. I shot this yesterday with my GoPro. It's a quick thunderstorm that rolled through in the evening. For the first minute and a half or so you can hear the birds singing but as the thunder gets louder and the rain gets harder they fly away to take cover. And at the end they come back and start singing again. This video can be viewed up to 4K quality.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Good day my friends. For today's view I would like to try another "update as I go" post. Meaning of course I am going to write part of the post now and update it throughout the day. I am still thinking about doing several small updates one day but not quite yet. I still need to think about how I would like to do that. So for now I would like to start the day with these shots I made in the back back section of the Cafe after work yesterday. As you will see I got down and up close and personal to bring you these dandelions and seeds. It was easy getting down but getting up is another story. The lengths I go to get the shot. It's now around 9:30am as I share these first photos.

Hey, I'm back. Okay I know you can't tell I was away from the computer for hours but I assure you I was. It is now 3:08 PM and I have a few shots from one of the Cafe feeders to show you. It was very busy and I saw a lot of cool birds including some bluejays and male cardinals.

It is now 4:36 PM and I am going to finish today's post with some shots from the front of the Cafe at the suet feeder. Suet is a favorite of our woodpeckers but as you can see the blackbirds will eat there too. Specifically this female red winged blackbird.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today we take another look at the new and improved feeding station and see one of our many squirrels. Then we see a mourning dove in the grass.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

I have been working on of the feeding stations for a little while now and I think it's coming along nicely. It's a little rustic but that's how I want it. And the birds and squirrels seem to like it that way. I will post some pictures in an upcoming edition but for today I would like to share a couple shots I made today after work.

And here is a quick video I made yesterday. It's a time lapse that was shot over the course of about an hour but is now condensed into around three minutes.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

I was out in the front Cafe area yesterday bringing some things in from the car and as I glanced at the suet feeder I saw today's view. I am just glad he stayed around long enough for me to grab my camera.

Wednesday View - 16 March 2022 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Wow what a beautiful day today! We made it well into the 70's and had plenty of sunshine. I even got some work done in the yard this afternoon. I got a little camera time in too. I saw lot's of birds and squirrels but one stood out from the rest. I guess this woodpecker was hungry because he perched to the bottom of the suet feeder to get to what was left. After he was done eating I put some fresh suet in it so the next time would be a bit easier.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time...

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

There was a lot of yard work to be done when we got home from the camper today. And man was it hot. But it had to get done so I did it. But before I got to work I took a few minutes to shoot some frames at the Cafe. The squirrels were actually waiting for me to toss them some peanuts and I figured I'd use it as an opportunity to photograph them. And for today's view I would like to share this one with you.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Monday View - 6 July 2020 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today was a rainy one my friends. If you're from around here you know what I mean. But in between downpours I spent some time at the Cafe feeding the squirrels and birds some peanuts and of course had my camera with me. I didn't get a lot but for today's view I would like to share one of the shots I did capture.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday View - 30 June 2020 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

As I get outside a little more (and I mean a "little" more) I am trying to grab some extra shots or so at the Cafe. And that means more squirrel pictures. It seems to me that this newer generation of squirrels has become accustomed to me being around with my camera. As long as I'm also there with peanuts I suppose. But it's almost to the point where they come down out of the trees when they hear that bag. Pretty cool I think. So anyway for today's view here is one of our squirrels enjoying one of those fresh peanuts.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Yesterday I shared a picture of a woodpecker I captured while shooting some squirrel photos. Today I am sharing one of the squirrel pictures. Plus a short video I made this afternoon. A video of some of our squirrels plus the added bonus of Schnitzel barking out the front door at them.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Well while I still haven't been able to get out and shoot for any long amount of time I did stand at our door looking out into the cafe and grabbed a few pictures today. Oh to make a long story short the reason I haven't been able to get out is because I hurt my knee and can barely walk. But more on that at a later time. So anyway while standing at the door I spotted this woodpecker. She (I believe) comes into our yard everyday and grabs peanuts and feeds them to her young. I guess she eats some for herself too. This isn't the best shot in the world but it is the first woodpecker I've been able to capture in a while.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today we take another look at one of last weeks squirrel pictures. I was going through the folder of RAW shots on my laptop and came across a couple that I think deserve to be shared. And this is one of them. Stay tuned for one or two more later this week.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!
