Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Hi there my friends. It's been just over a week since my last post. Some of you know why I haven't been here but some of you may not. Well last Saturday on Christmas Eve I woke to Smidge laying on her side on the floor of the living room convulsing and unable to get up. She actually yelled in pain when I touched her. And unfortunately at her age of over 18 years I knew what had to be done. She had of course slowed down a lot over the last couple years but this came on suddenly. And truthfully I don't know what the actual cause was because I refused to put her through an invasive examination. I did take her to the emergency Vet but I requested they take her pain away. So last Saturday morning around 6:30am Smidge left us. And I felt I needed a break. I'm not much for the holidays anymore but this made it a hundred times worse. So that's why I haven't been around at the blog.

So now to get back into it I'm starting slow and sharing a couple shots from the Cafe. Yes I've kept the Cafe going and it's been as busy as always. And for today's view I would like to show you these two regular guests.

Hi there my friends. Today's view is a quick look at a couple squirrels that came around yesterday before the rain. And man did it rain. We got more than two inches over two days. It's clearing up now but getting windy. But rain, wind or snow the squirrels come around for their peanuts and seed.

Hi there my friends. After a warm clear evening yesterday I woke to a clear but rather chilly morning. And I was up really early too. But this gave me plenty of time to get ready and head out to grab some sunrise photos at the park. So that's just what I did. And I'm sure glad too. Today's sunrise was a particularly wonderful one and I think I captured it pretty well. And in abundance. For today's view though I am sharing three images to give you an idea of what I was fortunate enough to see in person. Even if it was around 30°F (-1°C).

Hi there my friends. It's been a warm day here and in fact it still is even after the sun has set. The Moon is at a crescent  but is nice and bright in the sky so I figured I'd grab a shot to share today. But before I show you that I have something else. It's not the clearest shot in the world but I was able to get an okay picture of Jupiter and two of it's moons.

Today's view may seem odd for this time of year. When I was at the John James Audubon Center on Saturday I came upon a set of bee boxes. I knew they were there but never did I think I would see active bees in December. It was pretty warm so I guess they were taking advantage of it like I was.

Hi there my friends. Believe it or not today's view was shot from the parking lot of the McDonald's restaurant parking lot just up the road.  It is across from the Farm Park. I was sitting in my car having an Egg McMuffin before heading to the barber for a trim and decided to pull my camera out and take a few shots of the abandoned buildings that are located on the edge of the park. There was a little fog too so it added a little to the atmosphere. And now I would like to share them with you.

Sunday View - 10 December 2023 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Hi there my friends. So we are supposed to get a good amount of rain today, probably more than an inch. It's due to start between 10 am and noon. With this wet forecast I decided to set up my camera in the Cafe at one of the feeders around 7:30 am to see who would stop by. Well we had a lot of visitors, just not at that feeder. Okay, I then thought I would grab a shot or two in the front where we see a lot of squirrels hoping to grab at least something halfway decent. Well, as it turned out the squirrels, about five of them, put on quite a show. They were very active and didn't even seem to mind me being there. I think they knew about the weather and were gathering food while they could. Of course there was a lot of peanuts for them which they love. Now for today's view I would like to share a handful of the pictures I was able to capture.

Today's view is a shot of the night sky I made early this morning. The sky was clear and Venus as you can see at the center toward the bottom was nice and bright. This isn't my best work but I think with a few tweaks I can get a better image the next time I try. But I still like it.
