Yesterday I had planned on getting out to shoot but as I said in my last post it just didn't work out. So I figured I'd get up and shoot the sunrise today but it seemed unlikely because I was up rather late. But as it turned out I was up nice and early so I drove over to Valley Forge with plenty of time to spare. So for your viewing pleasure here is today's sunrise.
As you can see there is still plenty of snow left on the ground but luckily it's only on the grass. And it was quite warm too.
After shooting the sunrise I thought it would be nice to take a drive through the park and take in some of the scenery. So I set up my camera phone (Samsung galaxy S6) on the dash and made a video so I could share it with you too. I will warn you though that it is a bit long but you can always skip ahead. And as always it is best viewed at full screen in 1080P.
Hi and welcome to the Daily View! Seeing as we are still blessed with a lot of snow on our local roads (thanks Upper Merion) I thought I'd share another photo of my drive to work with you. This was shot yesterday morning but the scene hasn't changed a lot.
Okay it's a bit better but not from plowing. The weather warmed up today and it was pretty sunny. How is your snow situation? We can't be the only place that feels forgotten.
Well today is day two of the big dig out and there is a lot left to do. There is snow everywhere. Many roads around here are one lane and almost impossible to navigate. Naturally I shot several photos of my drive to work this morning and would like to share this one with you.
This road is normally narrow and not fun to drive but throw in some snow and this is what you get. I am glad there weren't a lot of other cars.
Continuing with yesterday's theme I would like to share another photo from Valley Forge. This was shot with my camera phone while it was mounted on the dashboard of our car. I was recording a video at the time and I will be sharing it soon but for now here is one of the still frames.
And though this video is not ready yet I do have another one to share with you right now. A time lapse video. But wait! There's more! I am sharing it at four different speeds. Yep, go ahead and choose one. or choose them all. It's up to you. Just click on the links below.
Well the major snow storm missed us. We got a little, maybe 2-3 inches, but nothing to speak of. I feel fortunate because I know there are a lot of people in the northeast that got a LOT more. And the snow that we did get was very powdery and easy to move. In following yesterday's theme I would like to share a photo of my drive into work today. I was able to stop my car in the roadway and shoot this.
The main roads were a lot clearer than this.
And that my friends was the extent of our "storm". Of course there are a couple more on the way. I don't know what the weather forecasters are calling for yet so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Thanks for visiting.
