For today's view we pan back from the bark of the "witness tree" and take a better look at it. Oh and as for what I saw, I saw the head of a dog. But anyway here is the whole tree. Big isn't it?

Today on this unseasonably warm day seemed like the perfect day to spend some time outside. So Kim and I headed to Pawling's Farm to walk some of the trails. Pawling's Farm is part of Valley Forge National Park. As I do during every visit to Pawling's Farm I set out to photograph the witness tree. The witness tree is an old tree somewhere between 200 and 300 years old. It is believed to have been alive during the American Revolution. As such it is very big. Bigger than any other tree in the area that I know of. So anyway I did get a lot of shots. But for today's view I am only sharing one. A closeup of the trunk. I was examining it looking at it's bark and I saw an "image". What do you see here? I'll let you know what I see tomorrow.

I had to run an errand after work today and was delayed getting home by about an hour. As such by the time I was almost home the sky was getting pretty dark. Kim and I took a drive into New Jersey today to visit Six Flags Great Adventure theme park. I know it's kind of late in the season but they are open until January. Not all of the rides are functioning of course but a lot are. And they also have a cool holiday theme going on with Christmas decorations and lights throughout the park. Today's view however is not about the decorations. Today I would like to share a view from the sky ride that crosses high above and across the park. And what a nice view it is.

Today I am continuing to share our Sunday visit to Longwood. I don't really have a theme this time just a few pictures I really like. The first is one of my favorite views in black and white. And by that I mean I think this particular view needs to be presented in black and white. Color doesn't do it justice. Then we see a couple waterfall features and finally to wrap things up we see a squirrel I spotted resting on a tree limb. It was a perfect day to lay out and enjoy the sun and warm temperatures.

Today we continue with yesterday's visit to Longwood Gardens. In my first post I showed you some of the grounds and told you of my amazement of being able to shoot it with no people in the frame. Today I would like to share some of the flowers that help make Longwood the wonderful place it is. All but one of these four photos was shot inside the conservatory. A great place to enjoy nature even on the coldest days of the year.

For the first time since last Winter Kim and I took a drive to Longwood Gardens today. Like many things it had been closed for a few months and even now things are a bit different. For one thing even members such as us have to make a reservation to enter. That's because only a certain number of guests are allowed in at once. And though this can make it more difficult to visit if does have one good side effect. It's a lot easier to shoot pictures. Pictures without people in them that is. And you will clearly see this in today's view. These are snapshots I made with my phone as we walked the grounds. Also be sure to check back throughout the week because I have lots of cool stuff to share.
