Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View There was a lot of yard work to be done when we got home from the camper today. And man was it hot. But it had to get done so I did it. But before I got to work I took a few minutes to shoot some frames at the Cafe. The squirrels were actually waiting for me to toss them some peanuts and I figured I'd use it as an opportunity to photograph them. And for today's view I would like to share this one with you.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View Today was a rainy one my friends. If you're from around here you know what I mean. But in between downpours I spent some time at the Cafe feeding the squirrels and birds some peanuts and of course had my camera with me. I didn't get a lot but for today's view I would like to share one of the shots I did capture.
Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View As I get outside a little more (and I mean a "little" more) I am trying to grab some extra shots or so at the Cafe. And that means more squirrel pictures. It seems to me that this newer generation of squirrels has become accustomed to me being around with my camera. As long as I'm also there with peanuts I suppose. But it's almost to the point where they come down out of the trees when they hear that bag. Pretty cool I think. So anyway for today's view here is one of our squirrels enjoying one of those fresh peanuts.

Well while I still haven't been able to get out and shoot for any long amount of time I did stand at our door looking out into the cafe and grabbed a few pictures today. Oh to make a long story short the reason I haven't been able to get out is because I hurt my knee and can barely walk. But more on that at a later time. So anyway while standing at the door I spotted this woodpecker. She (I believe) comes into our yard everyday and grabs peanuts and feeds them to her young. I guess she eats some for herself too. This isn't the best shot in the world but it is the first woodpecker I've been able to capture in a while.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View Today's usual throwback post is being replaced by squirrel photo I shot today. I was off work and after many errands had some time to spend in the Cafe with my camera. And it was very busy which meant lots of opportunity for some good shots. This guy was sitting on the back of the bench we have out front. It seems our wildlife use it more than us.
Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View Today's view is similar to yesterday's except different. This is another one of our bird baths, a more traditional one. Like yesterday I set up my camera to shoot a frame every five seconds and walked away so the birds would come. Today however I changed up some settings and I think I came away with some better results. And the birds showed up too. Lots of them. This guy enjoyed a nice refreshing bath followed by the shaking out of his feathers to dry up. And that's when I captured this photo.
Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View A couple Summers ago I purchased a wooden and metal bird bath at a store in Smithville Village in new Jersey. I used it for a while but for some reason took it down. I don't remember why. Well this year I decided to put it back up and I must say it has been pretty popular for both drinking and bathing. Today I thought I'd set up my camera and grab a series of shots after I changed the water to see what I would get. I didn't get a lot this time around but one shot came out okay. And for today's view I would like to share it with you.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View Kim and I are back home from the camper on what turned out to be a very nice day. It warmed up nicely and is sunny. When we got home we were able to spend a little time outside and I of course had my camera. My plan was to grab a few squirrel shots but as I scanned the yard I saw this cat bird sitting on our bench. I've seen a few cat birds and have heard them but this was my first opportunity to shoot one. They are one of my favorite seasonal birds.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View Today's view is a before and after of some lilies we planted a few weeks ago. Though the "before' is one set and the "after" is another. They aren't opening at the same time. We have them in pots by our front door and some planted in the ground by our mailbox. Just another new addition to the garden.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View Today was sunnier and would have been warm if it were not for the wind. But at least it didn't rain. I still didn't get a lot done outside and didn't shoot any so today's view is from Monday morning at one of the feeders. This guy was taking a break from eating but he sure did get right back to it a few frames later. It was a good day for photographing squirrels.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View Cold with a slight breeze. Two things that can make you not want to spend a lot of time in the garden. But by this afternoon I had to at least get out and check on the new greenhouse and make sure everything was doing well. And it is I'm happy to say. I also spent a little time with the camera. mostly trying to get some action shots of Schnitzel running. I got a few but he really didn't cooperate. I guess he was too busy investigating some birds and general goings on in his yard. I did get some good shots of some dogwood buds though. Both dogwoods in the front and back yards are blooming nicely and should fill out quite well soon. And for today's view I am sharing this cool picture I grabbed. And funnily enough I didn't see that strand of spider web until I looked over what I shot.
