As I get outside a little more (and I mean a "little" more) I am trying to grab some extra shots or so at the Cafe. And that means more squirrel pictures. It seems to me that this newer generation of squirrels has become accustomed to me being around with my camera. As long as I'm also there with peanuts I suppose. But it's almost to the point where they come down out of the trees when they hear that bag. Pretty cool I think. So anyway for today's view here is one of our squirrels enjoying one of those fresh peanuts.

Monday View - 29 June 2020 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

I was playing around with my camera's wifi settings today to try and transfer some photos to my phone. I'm talking about sending them from my Canon DSLR to my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. After some difficulty I was finally able to do so. Though it should have been easier. Anyway I then chose two shots and opened Adobe Light Room for Samsung and did my editing on my phone instead of my PC. I just wanted to see how well it worked in case I happen to be away from my computer but would like to share pictures from my Canon. And I think it worked out okay. I shot these two flowers in our front yard today and while it was a little tough editing on a smart phone screen I think they turned out well.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Well while I still haven't been able to get out and shoot for any long amount of time I did stand at our door looking out into the cafe and grabbed a few pictures today. Oh to make a long story short the reason I haven't been able to get out is because I hurt my knee and can barely walk. But more on that at a later time. So anyway while standing at the door I spotted this woodpecker. She (I believe) comes into our yard everyday and grabs peanuts and feeds them to her young. I guess she eats some for herself too. This isn't the best shot in the world but it is the first woodpecker I've been able to capture in a while.

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

Today's view is similar to yesterday's except different. This is another one of our bird baths, a more traditional one. Like yesterday I set up my camera to shoot a frame every five seconds and walked away so the birds would come. Today however I changed up some settings and I think I came away with some better results. And the birds showed up too. Lots of them. This guy enjoyed a nice refreshing bath followed by the shaking out of his feathers to dry up. And that's when I captured this photo.

A couple Summers ago I purchased a wooden and metal bird bath at a store in Smithville Village in new Jersey. I used it for a while but for some reason took it down. I don't remember why. Well this year I decided to put it back up and I must say it has been pretty popular for both drinking and bathing. Today I thought I'd set up my camera and grab a series of shots after I changed the water to see what I would get. I didn't get a lot this time around but one shot came out okay. Last night while Kim and I were hanging out with friends at the campground I was also playing around with my phone camera. I like shooting nighttime photos and this Tiki Torch gave me the perfect opportunity. I don't remember if I used the nighttime setting or manual (pro) mode but I like the way it came out.

On a side note, I have been uploading a lot of posts directly from my phone recently but have noticed that the images I am sharing don't seem to be of the same quality as they are on my phone. This post is being sent from my computer. I am just curious if you notice any difference.

Wednesday View - 3 June 2020 Edition

Welcome To The Exploration Photography Daily View

What a day my friends. The weather was just crazy with heavy rain and hurricane like wind. It came on almost out of nowhere and only lasted a short time but the damage was heavy. Overall we were lucky though. We did have a couple large branches come down in our yard but everything else was fine. Some of our neighbors however were not as lucky and had severe damage. A couple even had trees fall on their houses. But I don't think anyone was hurt and that's what's most important. Oh and I'm happy to say that amazingly the squirrel nest in our big tree seems to have made it through the storm. As for today's view I am sharing a snapshot I made right as a second thunderstorm came on this evening. I didn't have time to shoot anything else with all of the cleanup there was to be done.
