Today's view is another shot from the beach in Avalon yesterday. It's hard to believe that in just a few weeks it will go from being empty to being packed. As soon as Memorial Day arrives the action will start. I just wonder if it will be a little less crowded like last year.

It was another busy day at the Cafe today. Naturally the feeders were empty when I got home from work so filling them was a high priority as always. And as usual it didn't take long for the visitors to show up to grab something for dinner. Of course I was ready with my camera and was lucky enough to come up with this shot. I love his markings.

As the weather gets warmer The number and variety of guests at the Cafe gets bigger. And as the number rises The food supplies need to go further. Sure I do put out more food but it goes very quickly. And as such we see birds at the seed feeders that usually don't use them. Today's view is a good example. We get Bluejays all year round but they usually eat peanuts. But since there's more birds eating peanuts they often need to use the feeders.

If you like dandelions like I do you certainly like the subject of today's view. Yes it's dandelion seeds. I shot these this morning when it was a little windy so I am glad I was able to get images I could use. One is a wide shot and the other I cropped so you could see more detail.

Up the road on the Farm Park property is an old house. Actually there's a few old houses. Most of them are long abandoned and very dilapidated. So for a few years now I have been wanting to snap some pictures but never have. That is until this past Sunday morning. On my way home from a short errand I decided to pull over and grab a few shots with my phone. And for today's view I would like to share one with you, in black and white. I thought it fit nicely with the age of the subject.

I have been having a good time playing with my new camera for the past few days. It's a Canon Powershot G9 X Mark II and is my new compact that can be carried almost anywhere. You can Click Here if you would like to check it out. Today I carried it with me on a trip to Jenkins Arboretum for a quick walk between rain showers and I got a lot of good stuff. I'm really learning it's strong points along with a few things it's not designed to do. And I have come to the conclusion that I will use it for wide scenery shots and macros but not a lot in between. But that's okay seeing as those are two of the things I shoot the most. I have my DSLR for wildlife and my phone for up to 8K video. Now for today's view I would like to share a handful of photos I made during today's trip. As the weather gets warmer we have been trying to spend more time outside to enjoy it and get some fresh air. And the perfect place is just up the street. I am talking about the Norristown Farm Park of course. And today's visit was really cool because we checked out an area we have never been to. It's along the creek and rather rocky but so worth it. It was also the perfect opportunity to try out my new camera. I shot a good amount and I must say in really pleased with it. And today's view is just one example of the days work. This is the root system of a tree that has toppled and it's just fascinating to me. Just look and I think you'll see why.

Yesterday I told you about my new camera but in addition to that I also have a new phone. And if you know me at all you know I buy a phone based on the camera. This new purchase wasn't planned but the result of phone carriers that I won't get into. Mainly because it's a long story. But nonetheless here I am with a new Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. And it's camera is nothing if not spectacular. It can shoot at up to 108 MP, has image stabilization up to 10X and a zoom up to 100X. The 100X zoom doesn't produce the best quality but hey, it's there. I can even shoot 8K video if I want. But anyway for today's view I would like to share a couple photos I made with it today. The first was shot at the park up the street from us and the second right in our own yard. And in case you didn't know, dandelions are not weeds, they are classified as flowers.

This past week I added yet another camera to my collection. Not a collectable but a new compact digital, the Canon Powershot G9 X Mark II. A rather small but very advanced camera that is easy to carry just about anywhere. I will post my take on it soon but for today I would like to share a couple shots I made today while playing around a little. These are a few more signs of Spring. One is a nice wide view of our weeping willow while the other two are closeups of some of it's buds.
