I was having a bit of a time trying to get a Friday Schnitzel picture today. I guess he and Smidge were talking. But then I figured it out. I cooked a hamburger for dinner and suddenly he was very cooperative. So now I can share this with you.
Try as I might I just couldn't get a good Smidge picture today. Fortunately I had a couple that I shot a few days ago. Not the best shots but I found one that will do. So here is today's Thursday Smidge picture.
For the first time this week I was able to spend a little time outside in the Cafe and get a few good shots. I still have a bit to look over but for today's view I would like to share these with you.
Today's view is a small preview of a new project I am working on. For now I will give you the short story. I found a cheap lens (under $10) for my Canon DSLR that was originally used on an old toy camera and I thought it would be fun to play around with it. And as you will see from the two images I am posting it will take some time to get used to it. But when I do I think it will be kind of cool. Sort of like shooting with a cheap film camera from the old days. Here's what I found "acceptable" for today.
Keep in mind that I did not edit these in any way.
With not a lot to share today I thought I'd look through some snapshots from one of my trips to Morris Arboretum. These were all made with my phone and I'm pretty sure I haven't posted them before.
I had a few things in mind for today's view but that changed on account of rain. I'm not complaining mind you, we really need this rain. I just had to do my shooting a little closer to home and work around the weather. And when I say closer to home I actually mean at home in the Cafe. There's always plenty going on there with our plethora of wildlife. So now for today's view I would like to share this sleepy looking squirrel and one of our bigger woodpeckers. I believe the woodpecker to be a Northern Flicker but I'm not 100% sure of it.
I also have a video to share. I shot this early this morning in the front of the Cafe.
Today's view is quite the combination. These are a few shots I have made over the past couple of days. In the first two you will see one of our regular visitors to the Cafe. This little guy will actually sit on the empty feeder waiting for me to put more suet out. The third shot is of course the Moon. It's not quite full and as you can see it's not my best shot but I just made a few handheld attempts last night when I was letting Schnitzel out before bed. All in all not bad I guess.
