All this week I have shared pictures from last weekends trip to the zoo. But I also have a zoo of sorts right in my own yard. And you know it as the Cafe. The weather today was really nice so when I got home this afternoon I spent some time out there with my camera. And here is a sampling of what I got.

Technically this is not the Cafe. It's our neighbor's tree. But he is coming down to get a peanut I tossed his way so it's even I guess.

Today I would like to shift away from birds of prey and share something a little more gentle. Direct from the Prairie Dog exhibit at Elmwood Park Zoo... A couple of House Finches.

What is interesting is that over the past three years I have probably seen one Prairie dog. I know that "officially" the zoo will not disclose this but I believe that some of the vultures that have decided to call it home may be responsible.

Well after a few busy days I was finally able to get out and shoot for a little while at our local zoo. The Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown Pennsylvania. It was a quick but very nice trip. The weather was perfect for walking around and most of the animals were active. And right at the entrance is what I think is the very best Bald Eagle exhibit around. Most zoos I have been have their Bald Eagles behind glass or some kind of mesh. But not Elmwood. It's wide open and an excellent place to photograph these majestic creatures. Naturally this is the subject of today's picture.

Hi and welcome to the Daily View!

Happy October Friends! You probably know that I am not a big fan of cold weather. But I really don't mind Autumn too much. Except that it leads to Winter. What I do like is Halloween and all of the spookiness that goes with it. I always have. On this note, I was going through some older photos I shot but did not share. I do this now and again when I have not had time to shoot new stuff. There seems to be a lot of that happening lately. But that's another story for another day. Anyhow, I found something that kind of fit the bill for spookiness. After some enhancing at least.

Not the kind of photo I usually share but it's good to be different once in a while.
