Sunday View - 30 June 2024 Edition

It's been another hot one today, hazy and rainy too. I did set up at the suet feeder for a while and grabbed some pretty decent shots. For today's view I would like to share a few with you.

I would also like to share this video from one of the Cafe feeders last night. A few of the raccoons were trying to eat from the same bowl.

Until next time...

Saturday View - 29 June 2024 Edition

For a quick view today I would like to share two photos I made with my phone. The first is a young squirrel that is not too long out of the nest. It's not the best shot but I had to be quick and it was a somewhat long distance. The second of course is Isa in her cat tree.

Until next time...

Thursday View - 27 June 2024 Edition

Today's view is this beautiful sunflower that planted itself from the overflow seeds at one of the feeders. As you can see it has already been picked at by some birds. There's more coming up though. It's funny because as many times as I have planted sunflowers I have never had much luck with them. But the ones that come up wild do well.

Until next time...

Wednesday View - 26 June 2024 Edition

It's been a while since I have shared a photo of the Moon and since it was nice and bright in the sky this morning I thought I'd make a few pics. Here is one of my better attempts.

Until next time...

Monday View - 24 June 2024 Edition

Yesterday afternoon I set up my camera at the rear feeding station of the Cafe and grabbed a bunch of good shots. For today's view here is one of our regulars enjoying a bite to eat. Hopefully he had a drink too.

Until next time...

Sunday View - 23 June 2024 Edition

It's another VERY hot one today my friends with a current temperature of 95°F. I was up early and went right out to the Cafe feeders to clean, fill and of course make sure there was plenty of clean, cool water. I even did a bit of trimming and weeding and all of this at around 5:30 am. And it was still 79°F. So obviously I didn't get out with my camera. I did grab a quick squirrel photo and also set up at the suet feeder. For today's view here is what I got.

 Until next time...

Saturday View - 22 June 2024 Edition

So I set out early today to grab this morning's sunrise. I got to the park around 5:30 am and was all set. The forecast was for mostly sunny skies, with the keyword being mostly. There was exactly one heavy patch of clouds and of course it was right in front of the sun. But not ready to give up I headed to another part of the park where I could wait it out so to speak and perhaps see the sun rise above the clouds. I knew it would be a lot brighter than I usually shoot but I came prepared. I was using a new variable neutral density filter that tames the light and also has the added benefit of protecting my eye when I look through the viewfinder. Well the sun finally did show itself and it was very much worth the wait. For today's view I would like to share a few of my shots with you.

Until next time...

Wednesday View - 19 June 2024 Edition

With the very hot weather we are having this week I haven't really been out with the camera. So for today's view here is a photo of Isa

Monday View - 17 June 2024 Edition

As you may know I like to photograph the sun. And for years I have been doing it without any kind of filter. This is of course dangerous if you aren't careful. Well about a month ago I purchased a Neutral Density filter that lets me look straight at the sun and capture good photos. The only problem is that everything around it too dark to capture. So now I purchased a variable Neutral Density filter that allows me to let more light in while still being able to aim at the sun. I did a few quick shots at the park yesterday to test it out and now for today's view would like to share a couple with you.

Until next time...

Sunday View - 16 June 2024 Edition

Today we take a look at some more photos from my visit to the wonderful Jenkins Arboretum . A trip that I will be making more often.

I love shadows and this one is really cool.

I always notice fallen leaves and sometimes can't resist sharing them. Certain ones seem to really grab my attention. Notice the intricate detail build into each of them.

Scenery along the way.

I'm not sure about this one. When I shot it I told myself I had to share it. I just hope you can see what I see.

And here is another video. This is along one of the walking trails.

Until next time...

Saturday View - 15 June 2024 Edition

Hi there my friends. I know it's been a few days but I am finally back with a new post. Today I took a drive to Jenkins Arboretum. Though it's only 15 minutes away and on top of that free of charge I haven't been there in at least two years. I'll be going back again soon though because I forgot how nice it is. For today's view I would like to share some photos I made during my visit.

This isn't the best shot of a chipmunk but it's the best I could get. They are very quick.

When I saw this on one of the walking paths I instantly thought it looked like an acorn and had to share it.

These two are particular cool. There is a patch of Prickly Pear Cactus that bloom for one week a year. I just happened to visit at the right time.

I shot a few videos too and would like to share one of them with you. It is best viewed in 1080p or 4K.

Until next time...

Sunday View - 9 June 2024 Edition

Today started out cloudy but dry and cool with a very comfortable breeze. The perfect time for an early walk at the park. So I grabbed my camera and headed out and was walking one of the trails by 6:30 am. I was surprised to see a good number of other people there. It wasn't crowded though. I grabbed a lot of shots and will be sharing them over the next couple of days starting with today's view. Here is a small selection of the wildlife I came across.

Until next time...

Saturday View - 8 June 2024 Edition

I recently shared a couple phone shots of our Orange Lilies. About a day or so later the flowers were gone though, probably eaten by deer. But there was still a lot of blooms that hadn't opened yet but since have. For today's view I would like to share them with you.

Until next time...
