Once again on lieu of a throwback photo I am sharing a snapshot. My neighbor told me he had a praying mantis on one of his window screens so of course I had to go look and take pictures. What I really wasn't expecting though is what looks like a stink bug attached to it. I'm really not sure what is happening but I guess the mantis killed it. For today's view I am sharing this aphid that was perched on the tarp covering our outdoor sink at the camper. I know they must be all around but this is the first one I remember seeing. I don't really know much about aphids. Do they bite? I do know that I wasn't  finding out. He looks mean.

Today's view is my view of the Moon this morning. The Moon has been rising early in the morning for a few days and today it was clear enough for me to set up my camera and grab a few shots. It also gave me an opportunity to try out my new wireless remote. I love shooting the Moon this time of year. The air is crisp and clear making conditions just right.

As the days get shorter and I end up going to work and coming home in the dark I am trying to take advantage of what sunlight there is in the afternoon. So today I went out and tried to photograph some of our squirrels. They were busy working on their nests however so I went with plan B and headed to the bird feeders and did a little better. It was nice and clear last night so I decided to grab a few shots of the almost full Moon. I also thought it would be cool to play around with the cheapo 500mm lens I bought a couple years ago. And it was cheap. About $50.00. But hey it works. Sure it's manual focus but that's not a big deal with Moon pictures. And the quality isn't the best but I was able to get a larger RAW image. I was going to share a shot from yesterday's brief outing in the Cafe but today I was able to spend a little more time shooting. And today's pictures are a lot better. So for today's view I would like to show you a "unique to me" squirrel shot. I never thought about it much but I suppose squirrels eat more than just the peanuts I put out or the seed they eat from the bird feeders. They will also eat the odd leaf or two. And I saw this for the first time today. Have you ever seen this?

Yesterday evening Kim and I took a tour of the Physick estate in Cape May New Jersey. We were joined by two good friends from the campground who also went to dinner with us. Cape May is always nice to visit but is particularly nice in the Fall when the weather cools down a bit and it's a little less crowded. And it sure is loaded with history and beautiful architecture.
