Around The House - May 31, 2015
Hi there folks! Wow wasn't the weekend quick? At least mine was. We did a lot of running yesterday and today we just did some work around the house. I didn't know what I was going to post for this weeks "full post" so I thought I would show you some shots I made today.
These first two photos are from our pear tree.
This is one of our many Vinca.
And here is our Schnauzer, Schnitzel sporting his new Summer haircut.
One of our geraniums.
And finally here is our orchid.
And that's about it for now. I hope you enjoyed your visit and I certainly hope to see you again here at the blog. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hi there! Welcome to the Exploration Photography Daily View. Today I share with you another shot from yesterday at the Avian Cafe.
One lone diner. But he wasn't alone for long. Oh we pack em' in here at the cafe. To the tune of about 40lbs of seed every week and a half. Not to mention peanuts. I am so thankful for Costco!
Thanks for stopping by folks! I hope to see you again at the blog.

Hi there! Welcome to the Exploration Photography Daily View. Here is what I have for you today.
We get a lot of birds in our yard but oddly enough not a whole lot of Robins. Not in the front yard at least. Maybe they don't get along with doves and blackbirds? Hopefully this is one of many to come. I'll be there with my camera waiting!

Exploration Photography Daily View - May 27, 2015
Hi and welcome to today's edition of the Exploration Photography Daily View. Check out what I've got for you today.
This is a hosta at my sister Elaine's house. I shot this on Saturday. What makes it special to me is that it was grown from a clipping of the hosta at the house I grew up in. And even better than that is that according to what my Mom always told me is that it was originally from the house she grew up in. So while I don't know precisely how old it is it certainly is pretty old.
Thanks for stopping by folks.

Exploration Photography Daily View - May 26, 2015
Hi there and welcome to today's Daily View!
Well I get home from work today and as usual watered to plants and filled the birdbath. As I was finishing up I happened to look down and saw this critter.
Not the clearest shot I've ever made but I was in kind of a hurry and grabbed my cell phone. I have no idea where he came from but he was very calm and friendly. Probably someone's pet. If I knew for sure that he didn't have rabies I would catch him and try to find out who he belongs to. We are very familiar with ferrets and know how to handle them. They make great pets but require a lot of attention.
On another note I have a video to show you. It was shot at The Philadelphia Zoo. Check it out at the link below.

Today in observance of Memorial Day I would like to share a photo that is very special to me.
I obviously did not shoot this since it was about 26 years before I was born. This is my Dad Edward Miller in 1944 just before heading off to the Philippines during the Second World War. Some of you may have already seen it in my Facebook post earlier today. As I said in that post Dad was lucky enough to make it home but as an unfortunate fact of war many men and women serving this great nation did not. And today on Memorial Day we honor them.
Thanks for visiting.

A Trip to The Zoo
Hi there folks! Yesterday I told you that I would probably do a full post and have it to you my this morning. You know, because of the holiday. Well as the old saying goes, better late than never.
Yesterday Kim, her dad and I visited the Philadelphia Zoo. We figured that it wouldn't be terribly crowded since most people around here go "down the shore" over the holiday weekend. And for the most part it wasn't. And the weather was perfect. And now of course I have some photos to share with you. So without further delay...
This isn't as clear as I would like because it was shot through glass. I still like it though.
Yep. I go to a zoo full of animals and photograph a pigeon. Actually though you can't see it in this shot this pigeon was standing on a cage full of captive pigeons. And for you trivia buffs the common pigeon is actually a Rock Dove.
Lions...
And Tigers...
And... cats? Sorry, no bears today. I guess all cats like paper bags.
I like this shot a lot more than I thought I would.
I have a really cool video of this guy and his family. I'll share it soon.
And there you have it. I have more but I'll be sharing them later. I thank you for visiting and I hope to see you here again real soon.

Hi there and welcome to the weekend! For today's Daily View I would like to share one of our vincas with you.
Vincas are one of our favorite flowers and they are very hardy. They stand up to the extreme Summer heat and last well into the Autumn months. We have many in pots in the front and back yards of our house.

Today's Daily View Rocks! Well, actually it is rocks. Three rocks.
When Kim and I go camping I like to take a rock home from the town that we visit. It's pretty easy considering we are usually in a rural environment. It's a tradition I started four years ago. Unfortunately I missed bringing one home one year. From left to right the rocks on display here came from Cape May Courthouse, New Jersey 2012, Delaware Water Gap/Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania 2014 and Allentown, Pennsylvania this year.
Thanks for stopping by my friends.

Exploration Photography Has Gone A bit Squirrley.
Hi all! How was your weekend? It's Sunday and that means that in addition to my Daily View I also have a "fuller' post for you. And today it is full of squirrels! Well actually it's full of photos of squirrels. Six photos to be precise. These were shot over a couple of days this past week. So grab some peanuts and have a look.
A few weeks ago we had two squirrels that would come around and eat at the 'cafe". Then I started putting out peanuts and it turned into three and now four that show up almost daily. It's a good thing I found a good price on them huh? And it's getting to the point that a couple of them will come up close to me. In a few weeks I'm sure they will come right up to me.
I also have a video for your viewing enjoyment. And it features none other than the world famous "Avian (and squirrel) cafe". Well famous in my world at least. And you can see it at the link below.

Hello and welcome to the Daily View. We recently purchased a new bird feeder and now I am just waiting for the birds to start using it. And of course shoot a photo or two. Here is one that I got this morning.
Kind of looks like he is saying "What are you looking at?" or "Nothing to see here!". Now I just hope it catches the eye of some of the other birds.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hi there and welcome to the Exploration Photography Daily View. Here is today's photo.
I was throwing peanuts out for the three squirrels that come around and as the other two ran and hid this guy stuck around in my neighbors front yard. I got several shots but I really like this one. I will probably share the others in future posts.

Hi and welcome to the Exploration Photography Daily View. Today I would like to share an evening shot of the Avian Cafe.
Check out the black bird with the peanut. He took off right after I shot this. There was also a cardinal but he was out of the frame. He and the female seem to shy away from the other birds.
I also have a video to share. It was recorded this morning during breakfast at the cafe. I actually created three different 10 minute videos and they are marked as Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 at my YouTube page. I am sharing Part 2 at the link below but you can view any of my many videos here at this link.

Good evening my friends. Welcome to the Exploration Photography Daily View. Here is what I have for you today.

And I also have another video from our recent camping trip to share. This is our campfire from Saturday night. Click the link below.

A Weekend Of Camping
Hi folks! How was your weekend? Kim and I had a busy one. It seems that all of our weekends are busy anymore. Between projects around the house and trying to make the most of the warmer weather and such. And I'm not complaining at all. So this weekend we took a short camping trip about 45 minutes north of here at the Allentown KOA in New Tripoli, Pennsylvania. It was me, Kim and our dog Schnitzel. Here is a shot of us in front of the cabin we stayed in.
We have been camping several times over the years. We've stayed in tents and cabins and have experienced nice weather and some not so nice weather. And I must say that I have enjoyed it every time. Now one of the most basic of camping activities is of course the campfire. And I have to admit that I am just not that good at getting a good campfire going. Until this year. Kim did some research and we used some tips from others online and we finally did it.
I have a bunch of photos to share with you from the weekend and will probably spread them over two full posts. So today to wrap up this post I would like to show you a handful that I shot while taking a walk up one of the hills surrounding the campground. It was early and very peaceful.
And that will do it for today. But like I said I have more that I will probably post during the week. Please be sure to check back.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
