Yesterday I told you that I was going to write a quick post and it kind of grew a little. Well today I really am going to make it quick. I have a lot in the works though and will have a lot more for you real soon. Including a more organized and streamlined system that will let me continue to post every day. But for today I have two photos to show you. So let's get right to it.
This first photo is our hosta that I showed you a couple weeks ago. It sure has grown.
And this second photo is tonight's moon. It's not my best work but I had a hard time with the wind. It made it really difficult to get a crisp clear image.
And that's all for now. Thanks for stopping by. I'll be back real soon and I hope you will be too.
Until next time...

April 29, 2015 - Photo Of The Day
Well folks it's been a long day and this is going to be quick. I still have a few photos to process from our trip to the zoo on Sunday but I did get three done that I would like to share with you today. So let's get started shall we?
Is it me or does the third photo look like the one prairie dog is telling the other one a secret? Or maybe he is just telling him to keep away from his food.
In addition to these three pictures I also had the video camera out this morning at the Avian (and Squirrel) cafe. It seems that we now have three squirrels. Maybe it's the peanuts I have been putting out. And speaking of peanuts I also learned that Blackbirds love them. Anyhow please check out the link below for the video.
Wednesday Morning At The Cafe <<< Click Here
And while I am talking about videos I would like to share my YouTube Channel with you. There you can find many more videos that I have posted over the years. You can get there at the following link.
My YouTube Video Channel <<< Click Here
And that's about it for today. But before I go I would like to let you know that I am working on a couple of ideas that I will be implementing here at the blog. And I think you will like them. At least I hope so. All I can say now is that I hope to streamline the blog and bring you some more in depth posts at the same time. If everything comes together you should see it starting on Monday. So please keep watching this spot.
Thanks for stopping by.

April 28, 2015 - Photo Of The Day
Hi all! Today's post is for the birds. Literally. Continuing with photos from Sunday's trip to the Lehigh Valley Zoo I present to you some of it's resident birds. Any of you who have been reading my blog for any amount of time knows I love photographing birds. Whether they be wild or in a zoo setting. I have always been fascinated with them. So please have a look and enjoy.
And just to switch things up a little I am including this "non bird" photo. Actually I want to show you something I think is really cool. Yesterday I shared a panorama from the side of the road leading to the zoo. But what caught my eye almost as much as the view was this.
This bench is right at the edge of the hill. Right in the center. What an incredible place to sit and relax and just enjoy what nature has to offer. It is so serene. On my next visit I will have to make a short video.
And that is it for today folks. As always I thank you for taking a little bit of time out of your day to read my blog and check out my photos. As much as I love photography it would not be as enjoyable without you to share it with. Thank you!
Until next time...

April 27, 2015 - Photo Of The Day
I have been going over my photos from our trip this past weekend and have processed a few from the Lehigh Valley Zoo. Today I am sharing them with you. But there is a lot more and I will be showing them to you over the next few days. So please take a look and most of all enjoy.
This first shot was taken along the road that leads to the zoo. It was made from five different frames and merged in Adobe Bridge and touched up in Photoshop. What an amazing view.
And the rest of these are various residents of the zoo.
And that's all for today. Thanks for stopping by and as always I welcome you to come back soon to see what I share next.

April 26, 2015 - Photo Of The Day
Hi again! Today's post is a sampling of two parts of our weekend trip to north central Pennsylvania. As I told you yesterday we went to Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg. Today I have a photo and a short video from that trip.
This is the Big Wheel which of course is their Ferris Wheel.
And here is the video. It's 45 seconds of our ride.
The Big Wheel At Knoebels <<< Click Here
On our drive home today we discovered The Lehigh Valley Zoo. It's a small zoo located within a game preserve and I must say that I was very impressed. And I got lots of pictures. Today though I am sharing two. It's been a long day of driving and I just don't have time to go through all of them. But I will be sharing them over the next few days. Along with some more from Knoebels and other stuff from our trip.
This first one is one of their hawks. I kind of felt bad for him because he could see the sky and wanted to fly. Here he is trying to fly.
And here is one of my favorites. A prairie dog. There are several but this guy was cool. I shot a lot of photos of him and the other prairie dogs.
And that's it for today. Please be sure to come back because there is a lot more where these came from.

April 25, 2015 - Photo Of The Day
Hi there! Today my post is going to live up to it's title. Photo Of The Day. Mainly because we are currently staying at a hotel and though it does offer free internet the service is fairly slow.
Kim and I traveled a couple hours north and visited Knoebels Amusement Resort. It was our first time there but I think we will be returning. There are many reasons including a decent number of rides and some of the friendliest service I have seen in a long time but most of all the pricing structure is perfect. There is no admission charge and you only pay for the rides you want to ride. That means no pressure to "get your money's worth". And even better than that is the ride prices. For example it costs $1.50 per person to ride the Ferris Wheel. I don't think I saw a price higher than three or four dollars. And to top that the concessions were reasonable. Sure it's a little more expensive to eat at the park rather than outside but it's definitely cheaper than say Dorney Park or Hershey. I can without a doubt recommend Knoebels for a fun day out. So now I should be sharing some photos from the park right? Well not quite yet. Today I am sharing a shot that I made on one of the scenic back roads we traveled from the park to our hotel. But I will have plenty of park shots for you soon.
Not bad for a camera phone in a moving car.
And I am going for now. I'll be back real soon with some more though. I hope to see you here at the blog.

April 24, 2015 - Photo Of The Day
Hi there folks! It's finally Friday and though it's a little chilly right now it should warm up a bit tomorrow. At least that's what the experts say.
Today I would like to share three photos with you. The first two are from a couple nights ago. I was taking some trash out to our can and noticed the sky was very clear and offered me a great view of the Moon.
And not just the Moon. Venus was visible too. Obviously there is absolutely no detail in this photo but I guess that's due to the fact that it is approximately 162 million miles away from Earth.
Yep. That little white dot (more like speck) at the bottom right of the frame is Venus.
And before I go and just to switch things up here is a shot I got this morning of one of our local squirrels.
And that's it for today. Thanks for stopping by and please be sure to come back soon. I have some cool new stuff to share.

April 23, 2015 - Photo Of The Day
Yesterday I told you I was wrapping it up with photos from Longwood Gardens on Saturday. But I also said that you never know. Well as it turns out I am sharing one last set of photos from our trip. But today we shift from landscapes to flowers. So without further ado here you go.
Here we have one of my favorites. A Bird of Paradise.
And here is a soon to bloom Rosebud.
And I am not sure what this one is. If you know please feel free to let me know.
And that wraps up our Saturday trip to Longwood. But I have one more thing for you before I wrap up today's post. Yet another "cafe' video. And wow was it busy. Check it out at the link below.

April 22, 2015 - Photo Of The Day
Today I would like to wrap up our trip to Longwood Gardens on Saturday. Though I may share a few more after today. You never know. I usually concentrate on flowers when at Longwood. I mean it is what they are famous for. But their grounds are just as beautiful. It is so peaceful and I could walk there every day. Even when there are crowds there always seems to be a quiet spot. Anyhow I have three photos to share with you today. Please have a look and enjoy.
This first shot is the lake at the beginning of the Meadow Garden. A few days ago I showed you the other side.
Here we have a closer look at the lake. I guess it is actually a look into the lake. Check out the fish.
And this last photo shows the trail leading into the Meadow Garden.
Thanks for stopping by. I am so glad that you did. I hope you enjoyed your stay and come back again real soon. There is a lot I would like to share with you.

April 21, 2015 - Photo Of The Day
Today I would like to share a couple more photos from our trip to Longwood Gardens on Saturday. This first one is a shot of the Italian Water garden.
And here is a panorama of the lake on the other side of the water garden. It was created using three separate frames that were merged using Adobe Bridge and adjusted in Photoshop.
And now what day would be the same without one of my bird photos? I shot this after work today in our front yard.
And before I go I of course have a video to share. Here we have a very busy day at the cafe. I'm not kidding. There was a lot of birds.

April 20, 2015 - Photo Of The Day
They say April showers bring May flowers. Well if that is true then we should have enough flowers to cover the entire planet! Now I realize that is a bit of an exaggeration but we sure did get a lot of rain very quickly. And we are supposed to get more tonight but it sure doesn't look like it. But you never know. I truly believe that meteorology is partly based on guesswork. after all, who can really say what nature has in mind?
Now I usually save any videos for the end of my post but I would like to place a link for today's at the beginning. Why? Because the day started out with heavy rain and this video was filmed in that rain. This particular camera has a water proof case so I was able to grab some footage of what else, the Avian Cafe. Hey birds need to eat when it's raining too. Check it out at the following link.
Rainy Day Cafe <<< Click Here
When I got home from work the rain had cleared away and I was able to photograph some of our budding garden.
Here we have a couple shots of our Hosta.
And here's a couple of our Rhododendron.
And you know I have to sneak a bird in too right? Actually this is several birds lined up on top of our Arborvitaes.
And there you have it. My rainy day update. Now maybe we can dry out and let places that need the rain have it. Can you hear me California?
Thanks for stopping by folks. I really do appreciate it.

April 19, 2015 Photo Of The Day
Today I would like to continue with yesterday's theme and share some more photos from Longwood Gardens. Along with some new stuff I shot today. Sound good? Great let's get started then.
First up I have another shot of the squirrel I showed you yesterday. This time from a better angle.
And here are a couple of flowers. They are really starting to bloom now.
And now here is some of the "new stuff" I shot today. Big surprise, it involves birds!
This first one is actually kind of a milestone. It's not my best work but it is the 20,000th frame shot on my camera. Yep. Twenty Thousand.
And here are a few more birds for you. This guy is taking advantage of our bird bath.
And here's a couple sitting high up on our arborvitaes. Oh, and a flyby...
And before I go how about a video? I know I have been sharing a lot of videos from the Avian/Squirrel Cafe but I really like this one. Especially starting at 4 minutes 40 seconds in. Check it out at the link below.
Sunday At The Cafe <<< Click Here
And that's all for now. I have lot's more to share but it's getting late. Be sure to stop back soon.

April 18, 2015 - Photo Of The Day
Wow! What perfect weather we had today. For the first time this year the temperature reached above the 80° F mark. The last I looked at our cars gauge it was 82° F. But the humidity seemed to be relatively low. Kim and I took a drive to Longwood Gardens. We had her Dad along and made reservations at Longwood's restaurant 1906 for lunch. It was the first time any of us had ever been there. It was a little pricey but I have to say that the food was excellent. Especially the mushroom soup. I would recommend 1906 but would also recommend making reservations. It is not that big and fills up pretty fast. In fact the cafe section was full and people had to wait outside of the building due to overcrowding. I guess this wonderful weather brought everyone out to enjoy the gardens. So anyhow you know that I shot the odd photo or two. And today I would like to share three of them with you. So let's get to it shall we?
Any trip to Longwood requires the obligatory photo of a flower. And I did shoot many today but am only sharing one with you for now. And here it is.
This pink rose and two buds caught my eye. This was shot in the Conservatory.
These next two show some of the wildlife that reside at Longwood. This first one is a lone duck swimming in the lake at the beginning of the Meadow Garden.
And this next photo shows one of my favorites. A squirrel of course. And this guy was not shy or skittish. He stayed right there while I snapped away with my camera.
Of course while strolling the gardens I had to grab a quick video. And what better place than the Italian Water Garden? Check it out at the link below.

And before I go I have one more video for you. This is yet another morning at the "Aviary Cafe". I finally captured some footage of one of the Cardinals. He shows up about halfway through the video and you can check it out at the link below.
